Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that capture video in mobile applications and automatically archive the captured videos using short-range communications with a network storage device. In various embodiments, the archival is triggered by proximity to the wireless network device. In various embodiments, other triggers, such as those provided by location-based services are used to initiate archival via a wireless protocol.

Abstract: A playback device includes tangible storage configured to receive transfer of media content from a remote communications device to the playback device while the remote communications device is operating in a high power mode. Interface logic is coupled to the tangible storage and configured to signal the remote communications device during the transfer to prepare the remote communications device to enter a low power mode after the transfer is complete. The remote communications device includes a content manager configured to transfer of media content from the remote communications device to a playback device while the remote communications device is operating in a high power mode. Power logic is coupled to the content manager and configured to prepare the remote communications device to enter a low power mode after the transfer is complete, responsive to receipt of a signal from the playback device during the transfer is complete.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a request from a host device to authenticate a device. The method further includes transmitting authenticating data to the host device. Responsive to successful authentication of the device, configuration interface and communication interface of the device is exposed to the host device. The method further includes processing commands from the host device after the device is successfully authenticated.
