Abstract: An apparatus powered by batteries may include a first processor and a second processor. The first processor may consume more electrical power than the second processor. The second processor acquires data from one or more sensors. At a predetermined time or other trigger, the second processor activates the first processor that is then used to send the acquired data to an external device. For example, items are stowed on the apparatus that includes weight sensors. The second processor awakens hourly, acquires weight data indicative of the weight of items stowed on the apparatus, and returns to a sleep mode. After 24 hours of acquiring weight data, the second processor activates the first processor to send the accumulated weight data to an external device, such as a server, using a network interface. Power consumption is substantially reduced, allowing the apparatus to operate without external power for extended periods of times.

Abstract: A system is described for maintaining synchrony of operations among a plurality of devices that have independent clocking arrangements. The system includes a task distribution device that distributes tasks to a synchrony group comprising a plurality of devices that are to perform the tasks distributed by the task distribution device in synchrony. The task distribution device distributes each task to the members of the synchrony group over a network. Each task is associated with a time stamp that indicates a time, relative to a clock maintained by the task distribution device, at which the members of the synchrony group are to execute the task. Each member of the synchrony group periodically obtains from the task distribution device an indication of the current time indicated by its clock, determines a time differential between the task distribution device's clock and its respective clock and determines therefrom a time at which, according to its respective clock, the time stamp indicates that it is to execute the task.

Abstract: An IC in which a power state of a circuit in one power domain is managed based at least in part on a power state of a circuit in another power domain is disclosed. In one embodiment, an IC includes first and second functional circuit blocks in first and second power domains, respectively. A third functional block shared by the first and second is also implemented in the first power domain. A power management unit may control power states of each of the first, second, and third functional circuit blocks. The power management circuit may, when the first functional circuit block is in a sleep state, set a power state of the third functional block in accordance with that of the second functional circuit block.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention assist in the development, management, and deployment of aggregated data attributes for multiple data sources. One embodiment provides a development interface that allows for elements of attributes, including filters, to be moved into a coding area in which an attribute or an attribute element is being edited. In another embodiment, the user interface presents data fields to assist in the development of filters for multiple data sources with divergent formats. The application further provides a validation interface through which users can validate attributes and trace the results returned by various elements referenced by the attributes under validation. Another embodiment provides a system for managing attributes and deploying them to various systems by creating a deployment file that is used by an attribute calculation system. In one embodiment, the attribute calculation system is a scalable system that dynamically calculates attributes for multiple data sources.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for a spatial telemeter alert reconnaissance system (“STARS”). According to one aspect disclosed herein, the STARS can receive, from a spatial mapping and monitoring (“SMM”) device, an initial space map for a space in which the SMM device is deployed. The initial space map can include a volume capacity of the space. The STARS can receive, from a user device, at least one space parameter to be utilized for the space in which the SMM device is deployed. The STARS device can update the SMM device in accordance with the space parameter. In some embodiments, the at least one space parameter can include a mapping frequency. The mapping frequency can instruct the SMM device to perform spatial mapping of the space at a specified time interval.

Abstract: System and method to encode and decode raw data. The method to encode includes receiving a block of uncoded data, decomposing the block of uncoded data into a plurality of data vectors, mapping each of the plurality of data vectors to a bit marker; and storing the bit marker in a memory to produce an encoded representation of the uncoded data. Encoding may further include decomposing the block of uncoded data into default data and non-default data, and mapping only the non-default data. In some embodiments, bit markers may include a seed value and replication rule, or a fractalized pattern.

Abstract: A detection circuit for power over Ethernet (PoE) and a detection current generation method thereof.
