摘要： A carpet cleaning machine for uniformly spreading a dry carpet cleaning powder onto a surface and working the dry carpet cleaning powder into the surface. The cleaning machine includes base having a hopper integrally formed therein, distribution slots on the bottom of the hopper, a rotary powder agitator inside the hopper, wheels for supporting the base over a floor surface and for rotating the powder agitator, a metering gate for controlling the dispensing of the dry carpet cleaning powder, a trigger located on the cleaner handle for controlling the metering gate, and a plurality of motor driven vertical axis rotary brushes for working the dry carpet cleaning powder into the carpet. The dry carpet cleaning powder is dispensed onto the carpet and allowed to sit for a short period of time to allow the dry carpet cleaning powder to absorb the dirt contained in the carpet. After the dry carpet cleaning powder has dried and absorbed dirt, the dry carpet cleaning powder and dirt are vacuumed from the carpet with an ordinary vacuum.

摘要： A compact, hand held carpet and upholstery extractor nozzle is provided having an air turbine and a compact gear reduction operatively connected to and driven by said turbine. At least a pair of scrub modules are interchangeably attachable to said gear reduction. A first scrub modules includes at least a pair of vertical axis scrub brushes for cleaning upholstery, carpeting and the like. When said first scrub module is attached to said gear reduction, the scrub brushes are operatively connected to and driven by said gear reduction. A second scrub module includes a single vertical axis scrub pad that is driven by said gear reduction for scouring hard surfaces, such as tiles, tubs, counter tops, etc.

The assemblies generally include a planar substrate, a resistive film for heat generation, one or more electrically conductive electrodes in electrical association with the resistive film, and a non-stick layer disposed on the exposed surfaces of the assembly. The heating and warming assemblies according to the present invention are particularly well suited for use in heating devices and appliances such as ranges and griddles. The assemblies are also incorporated into heating panels for ovens.

摘要： A water filter assembly mounted to an inner surface of a refrigerator and accessible from within a refrigeration compartment of the refrigerator. The filter assembly includes a first housing part, a second housing part, and a replaceable filter cartridge. The first and second housing parts cooperate to define a fluid-tight chamber for receipt of the filter cartridge. The first housing part includes an inlet port through which unfiltered water may be introduced into the chamber and an outlet port through which filtered water may exit the chamber. The second housing part surrounds a portion of the first housing part and provides a volume sufficient to hold the filter cartridge and any water within the chamber when the second housing part is released from the first housing part to replace the filter cartridge, and thereby prevents or minimizes spillage of water from the filter assembly during filter cartridge replacement. A shield member is disposed within the refrigeration compartment and cooperates with a cabinet wall to define a filter compartment which surrounds the filter assembly. A heater disposed within the filter compartment adjacent the filter assembly and is operable to heat the filter assembly to prevent freezing of water contained therein.

摘要： A cleaner for cleaning a surface comprises a floor-engaging portion for moving along the surface. A magnet and a hall effect sensor located in the cleaner handle generates a control signal. The control signal is provided to a control circuit which controls one or more operational features of the cleaner. One such operational features includes at least one pump for mixing and distributing cleaning solution to the surface. In an alternate embodiment, the control circuit controls an electric motor for propelling the cleaner over the surface.

摘要： A dirt collecting system for a vacuum cleaner includes a dirt cup formed with a first dirt collecting chamber and a second dirt collecting chamber separated by an apertured wall. An inlet opening is formed in the dirt cup and communicates with the first dirt collecting chamber for inputting a stream of dirt laden air into the first dirt collecting chamber. An exhaust opening is formed in the second dirt collecting chamber for allowing the filtered air stream to exit the dirt cup. The aperture wall includes a pre-filter for filtering coarse particles from a stream of dirt laden air and depositing the coarse particles in the first dirt collecting chamber. A filter member is positioned within the second dirt collecting chamber and communicates with the exhaust port. The filter element filters fine particles from the air stream and deposits the fine particles within the second dirt collecting chamber. The filter member is supported by a filter support which extends from the aperture wall to vertically support the filter member within the second dirt collecting chamber. The aperture wall, filter support and filter member are removably mounted within the dirt cup to provide for removal and cleaning thereof. A lid removalby mounts on the dirt cup and encloses the first and second dirt collecting chamber and is held thereon by a latching mechanism.

摘要： A fluid level sensor for determining the amount of liquid in a container. Thin metal plates are placed parallely adjacent each other to form a capacitor cell coated with a non-hygroscopic film. The plates are mounted on the walls of the container containing fluid. As the fluid covers more surface area of the capacitor plates, the dielectric properties of the fluid increase the capacitance of the cell proportionally. The plates are connected to an oscillator whose output frequency varies with the change in container fluid levels. By monitoring these frequency changes, the container fluid levels of the fluid in the container can be controlled.

摘要： A dirt collecting system for a vacuum cleaner includes a dirt cup formed from a cylindrical sidewall having a disc shaped member separating the dirt cup into an upper portion and a lower portion. The dirty airstream flows past the disc shaped member from the upper portion to the lower portion through a small gap between the outer periphery of the disc shaped member and the sidewall of the dirt cup. The disc shaped member is supported on a centrally located conduit which has apertured walls located both above and below the disc shaped member. The apertured walls allows the airstream to flow into the conduit for further filtering or exiting the dirt cup. The apertured wall located above the disc shaped member improves sustained performance by enabling the airstream to continue to flow through the dirt cup as the lower portion of the dirt cup fills with large dirt particles and the apertured wall located beneath the disc shaped member becomes increasingly restricted. In the various embodiments of the invention, the airstream is directed through the conduit to a fine particle filter located in a compartment at the bottom of the dirt cup, at the top of the dirt cup or into filter sock located at the upper end of the dirt cup. Alternately, the fine particle filter may be located in a separate container located above or below the dirt container.

摘要： A heating panel has a metal substrate, ceramic inner and outer insulating layers on the substrate. A film of resistive material forms a heating layer on one of the insulating layers. The heating layer has electrodes on opposite edges connected to different phases of a multiphase power source. Another electrode is connected to a neutral of the power source. Capacitive currents caused in the substrate by the different phases cancel each other. Thus, leakage current is minimized through a conductor connected between the substrate and ground. The heating panel can be adapted for two phase or three phase systems. The heating panels are particularly useful for defining a heating cavity of an oven.

摘要： A reversible control console that can be mounted in alternate orientations that are substantially inverted from each other so as to provide product differentiation using universal parts. An integrally molded plastic hood has a control mounting panel and ends that have first and second alternate support edges. When the hood is mounted on the respective first edges, the mounting panel has a particular orientation and slope with respect to the top of the appliance. When the hood is mounted in the alternate position on the respective second edges, the mounting panel has a different orientation and slope with respect to the top panel. The respective orientations of the control mounting panel are inverted or substantially inverted from each other. In both mounting orientations, screw holes on the hood align with respective screw holes on the appliance top panel and the console rear panel. The hood also has ribs with projections that interlock with the rear panel.
