摘要: A disk brake includes a caliper body having a cylinder portion (25) with a cylindrical shape. The cylinder portion (25) has a bore (30) with a bottom (34) formed by integrally joining together an opening peripheral edge (98) at the bottom side of the cylinder portion (25) and a bottom cover member (92) to be fitted to the opening peripheral edge (98) through friction stir welding. The bottom cover member (92) has a disk shape and is friction-stir-welded along the outer periphery thereof. The terminating point of the friction stir welding is within the boundaries of the bottom cover member (92).

摘要: A disk brake includes a caliper body having a cylinder portion 25 with a cylindrical shape. The cylinder portion 25 has a bore 30 with a bottom 34 formed by integrally joining together an opening peripheral edge 98 at the bottom side of the cylinder portion 25 and a bottom cover member 92 to be fitted to the opening peripheral edge 98 through friction stir welding. The bottom cover member 92 has a disk shape and is friction-stir-welded along the outer periphery thereof. The terminating point of the friction stir welding is within the boundaries of the bottom cover member 92.

摘要: A friction pad for a disk brake is designed so that a wear sensor can be firmly secured to the friction pad. A circular cylindrical projection is formed on a backing plate of the friction pad by extrusion so that a wear sensor adapted to sound an alarm by coming in contact with a disk is fitted onto the projection and secured to the backing plate by caulking the projection. The projection is so deformed that the diameter d.sub.1 and height h.sub.1 of a resulting radially enlarged portion satisfy the relationship of (d.sub.1 -3.4).times.h.sub.1 .gtoreq.2.5, thereby preventing rotation of the wear sensor and rising of the enlarged portion.

摘要: A disk brake and a method of making the disk brake capable of improving the efficiency of manufacturing a caliper. A bottom portion (41) of a bore (40) is formed by integrally welding an opening surrounding portion at the bottom portion side of a cylinder portion (35) and a bottom cover member (92) fitted to the opening surrounding portion by friction stir welding. The bottom cover member is formed into a disk shape, and provided with a protrusion (68) at one surface side facing the interior of the bore. An inflow hole (58), for a supply of a fluid pressure into the bore, is formed within the range of the protrusion to establish communication between an interior surface (71) of the protrusion and an outer surface (63) of the bore.

摘要: A disk pass portion for receiving a part of a disk is provided between a cylinder portion and an outer claw portion of a caliper body at the inner peripheral side of a bridge portion of the caliper body. A pair of mounting portions extend arcuately from both sides of the bridge portion to lie outside the disk pass portion with respect to the radial direction of the disk. A pair of sliding pins are secured to the distal ends of the mounting portions through pin bolts and slidably fitted in pin-fitting holes provided in a mounting member supporting the caliper. When the brake is activated, friction pads are pressed against the disk by the caliper. At this time, deformation of the caliper by reaction forces from the disk is small around the area where proximal portions of the mounting portions are connected to the caliper body.

摘要: There is provided a disk brake, comprising: a pad supporting member where at least a pair of lining pads is supported, and at least two first installation holes are provided at a mounting portion that is installed to a vehicle; at least two second installation holes provided at a non-rotational portion of the vehicle; and a fixing bolt installed into the first and second installation holes so as to fasten the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion, wherein a reinforcement member is provided with at least two internal thread portions into which the fixing bolt is screwed, the reinforcement member being formed with materials different from the ones of the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion, and the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion are fastened by means of the reinforcement member and the fixing bolt.

摘要: In the disk brake of the present invention, each arm of the carrier has a projecting pad guide, and each friction pad has recesses fitted onto the pad guides of the carrier. Each pad spring has integrally formed therewith a generally U-shaped guide plate which is bent along the pad guide and resiliently engaged with and presses against the pad guide to thereby mount the pad spring on the arm of the carrier. Each recess of the friction pads includes a groove at a position corresponding to at least one bent portion of the guide plate, which is separated from a corner portion of the pad guide and deformed into a projection toward the recess.

摘要: In a boat attachment structure, an inner circumferential groove is formed at an open end of a cylinder bore of a caliper. A deep bottom section and a shallow bottom section are provided on the bottom of the inner circumferential groove, and therefore a step is formed between them. A dust boot having of a cylindrical elastic body with a thickened engagement section on the peripheral surface is inserted in the cylinder bore, and the engagement section is fit in the inner circumferential groove. Since each of chips produced during machining of the groove is parted by the step, chips will not remain in the inner circumferential groove.
