摘要: A speech synthesis device is adapted to provide an audible indication of numerical information through the utilization of a predetermined number of phonemes. Those phonemes are stored within a read only memory on a single large scale integrated circuit chip. A desired length of pause or silence is provided depending upon the kind and location of information to be audibly outputted. The necessity for the pause period is stored in digitally encoded signals within the read only memory in the same manner as with the phonemes.

摘要: A waveform synthesizer arrangement for use in an audible output device is adapted to synthesize desired waveforms and includes a digital filter to reduce the generation of output noise. A time sequential process is effected on data to be reproduced which considers the total nature of waveforms of interest thus performing proper waveform adjustment to avoid acute changes in the waveforms. The time sequential process is affected by previous data and has the effect on the frequency construction of the resulting waveform.

摘要: Provided is a technique of correcting influences of optical environment to correctly recognize the color of an input object used for inputting of coordinates, and enabling automatic designation of a color to be used for drawing. A coordinate detection unit detects coordinates of an input object. Next, display light on the display plane in the vicinity of the coordinates is estimated from display data, and a correction value to remove influences of the display light is calculated. A captured image of an input object used for input operations on the display plane is extracted, and the color of the captured image is corrected with a display light correction value. Thereby, influences of the display light added to the input object are removed, enabling the original color of the input object to be identified.

摘要: Provided are a hole-injecting material for an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) exhibiting high luminous efficiency at a low voltage and having greatly improved driving stability, and an organic EL device using the material. The hole-injecting material for an organic EL device is selected from benzenehexacarboxylic acid anhydrides, benzenehexacarboxylic acid imides, or N-substituted benzenehexacarboxylic acid imides. Further, the organic EL device has at least one light-emitting layer and at least one hole-injecting layer between an anode and a cathode arranged opposite to each other, and includes the above-mentioned hole-injecting material for an organic EL device in the hole-injecting layer. The organic EL device may contain a hole-transporting material having an ionization potential (IP) of 6.0 eV or less in the hole-injecting layer or a layer adjacent to the hole-injecting layer.

摘要: The main object of the invention is to provide an electromagnetic wave resonator making use of surface waves: an electromagnetic wave resonator structure capable of being achieved with existing technologies yet without much difficulty and applying voltage to a positive dielectric area, thereby overcoming a variety of problems arising from the fact that only thermal excitation is available. The contact structure of negative dielectric/positive dielectric/negative dielectric necessary for this type of electromagnetic wave resonator is provided on the surface of the negative dielectric material 1 just as the coaxial structure of the positive dielectric thin film 3 extending in the Y-axis direction and the negative dielectric material 2 received therein is cut in the axial direction. This makes sure both negative dielectric materials 1 and 2 with the positive dielectric thin film 3 sandwiched between them are electrically insulated so that voltage can be applied to the positive dielectric thin film 3, and ensures that an area provided in the negative dielectric material 1 to receive the positive dielectric thin film 3 has an aspect ratio D/P1 of about 1.9, a figure well achievable in the state of the art.

摘要: To provide a semiconductor device having a structure in which a barrier metal film containing nitrogen is formed in a connection surface between a copper alloy wiring and a via, in which the electric resistance between the copper alloy wiring and the via can be prevented from rising, and the electric resistance can be prevented from varying. A semiconductor device according to the present invention comprises a first copper alloy wiring, a via and a first barrier metal film. The first copper alloy wiring is formed in an interlayer insulation film and contains a predetermined additive element in a main component Cu. The via is formed in an interlayer insulation film and electrically connected to the upper surface of the first copper alloy wiring. The first barrier metal film is formed so as to be in contact with the first copper alloy wiring in the connection part between the first copper alloy wiring and the via and contains nitrogen. The predetermined additive element reacts with nitrogen to form a high-resistance part. In addition, the concentration of the predetermined additive element is not more than 0.04 wt %.
