摘要: A method for controlling an electronic power steering system may include receiving, at an electronic power steering controller, at least one signal from at least one sensor and generating, by the electronic power steering controller using the at least one signal, a first autonomous steering command. The method may also include receiving, from a domain controller at the electronic power steering controller, a second autonomous steering command and comparing, by the electronic power steering controller, the first autonomous steering command and the second autonomous steering command. The method may also include selectively controlling, by the electronic power steering controller, the electronic power steering system using one of the first autonomous steering command and the second autonomous steering command, based on the comparison of the first autonomous steering command and the second autonomous steering command.

摘要: Technical solutions for a motor assembly for an electric power steering system are provided. The motor assembly comprises a motor configured to rotate a motor shaft to apply a drive torque to an output shaft of a steering column. The motor assembly also comprises a circuit card assembly including a torque and angle sensor disposed upon a printed circuit board and configured to measure a differential angle between rotational positions of the output shaft and an input shaft. The printed circuit board of the circuit card assembly is disposed perpendicular to a rotational axis of the steering column. The motor assembly also comprises an enclosure coupled to the motor and containing the circuit card assembly and a worm shaft coupled to rotate with the motor shaft and having a worm disposed helically thereabout for driving a worm gear coupled to the output shaft.

摘要: A method of transitioning from an autonomous driving mode to a manual driving mode for a vehicle is provided. The method includes comparing a steering device input angle to an autonomously controlled steering angle to determine a steering angle error. The method also includes comparing an acceleration or deceleration input to an autonomously controlled acceleration or deceleration input to determine an acceleration or deceleration error. The method further includes progressively transitioning to the manual driving mode in a weighted manner based on a confidence level factor determined by a calculation that factors in the steering angle error and the acceleration or deceleration error.

摘要: A method for providing operating mode transition for a vehicle includes receiving an input indicating a request to transition from a first operating mode of the vehicle to a second operating mode of the vehicle and determining a first planned trajectory corresponding to the first operating mode. The method also includes determining a first road wheel actuator angle corresponding to the first planned trajectory and determining a second road wheel actuator angle corresponding to the second planned trajectory. The method also includes determining a difference between a current handwheel actuator angle and a handwheel actuator angle corresponding to the second road wheel actuator angle and, in response to a determination that the difference is less than a threshold, transitioning from the first operating mode to the second operating mode over a determined period.
