Abstract:
Apparatus for switching and combining based on external signaling is provided wherein a locally generated modulated carrier (or carriers) is inserted into a CATV system between the cable head end and video decoding/rendering device without requiring unused channels or the loss of any incoming services. An RF switch is controlled by a switch control processor based on knowledge of the video decoding/rendering device current tuning requirements to select between the full spectrum coming from the CATV system the locally generated and inserted channel. Current tuning requirements for the attached video decoding/rendering device may be input to the switch control processor from the video decoding/rendering device itself or from a separate device with knowledge of the current service requirements.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit (IC) package stack with a first and second substrate interconnected by solder further includes solder resist openings (SRO) of mixed lateral dimension are spatially varied across an area of the substrates. In embodiments, SRO dimension is varied between at least two different diameters as a function of an estimated gap between the substrates that is dependent on location within the substrate area. In embodiments where deflection in at least one substrate reduces conformality between the substrates, a varying solder joint height is provided from a fixed volume of solder by reducing the lateral dimensioning of the SRO in regions of larger gap relative to SRO dimensions in regions of smaller gap. In embodiments, the first substrate may be any of an IC chip, package substrate, or interposer while the second substrate may be any of another IC chip, package substrate, interposer, or printed circuit board (PCB).
Abstract:
Storage systems and methods are presented. A method can include: accessing virtual machine image information; performing an examination process on the virtual machine image information to determine characteristics of the virtual machine image information including temporary attributes of the virtual machine image information; performing an exclusion block identification process based upon results of the examination process to identify exclusion blocks, wherein exclusion blocks are identified for exclusion from a subsequent operation; and forwarding an indication of the exclusion blocks to the subsequent operation. In one embodiment the method is performed within a File Server.
Abstract:
Data loss prevention systems and methods begin protecting data upon the creation of the data. One such method involves detecting a file system operation targeting data on a storage device. The file system operation creates or modifies the data or a set of permissions associated with the data. In response to detecting the file system operation, the method prevents unauthorized access to the data. The method begins preventing unauthorized access after the detection of the file system operation and before any subsequent read access to the data via the file system.
Abstract:
A computer implemented method is disclosed, the method including but not limited to detecting an event of interest in video conference data for a plurality of video conference participants and notifying an end user of the event of interest. A computer readable medium is also disclosed for containing a computer program for performing the method. A computer implemented method is also disclosed for receiving at an end user device, a notification of an event of interest in a video teleconference, the method including but not limited to receiving at an end user device from a notification indicating a detection of the event of interest in video conference data from the video teleconference for a plurality of video conference participants; and sending data from the end user device to the server requesting a transcription of comments from the speaker in video teleconference.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for fault handling are presented. In one embodiment, a fault handling method includes: performing an information collection process, wherein the information collection process includes collecting information regarding guest operating system files of a virtual machine; performing a selective replication region identification process, wherein the selective replication region identification process includes identifying regions associated with a selective amount of the guest operating system files; and performing a replication process based upon result of the replication region identification process. In one embodiment, the selective replication region identification process includes identifying regions associated with files of interest. The selective replication region identification process can include identifying regions associated with temporary files. The information regarding files can include a list of regions used by the files after loopback mounting of a virtual disk file, a list of regions which have been modified on the virtual disk file and regions associated with metadata that has changed.
Abstract:
A method for automating the manifold design process based on a hydraulic circuit cavity geometry and manifold design parameters successively merges stored design patterns, including orientations and connectivity data of each cavity into an evolving manifold topology. Cross-drill connections are added to the topology. A complete 3-D manifold model is then exported through a CAD program.
Abstract:
A periodic checkpoint method for a file system replication source. The method comprises generating a first checkpoint at a first time on a file system replication source and identifying a set of data objects from the replication source that have been modified during a time period between the first time and a subsequent second time. A periodic checkpoint is then generated at the second time on the file system replication source by using the set of data objects.
