摘要: A refrigerator which variably controls operation of a sterilizer according to variation in humidity within the refrigerator to improve sterilizing capacity includes a control unit to drive the sterilizer while repeatedly turning the cold air circulation fan on/off during a refrigerating cycle in which the defrosting heater is not operated, and stop driving the sterilizer during operation of the defrosting heater.

摘要: A demand response (DR) system includes a DR control unit to generate different DR levels having different power rates for each power unit, and transmit a current DR level, and a household appliance to receive the DR level from the DR control unit, and differentially control energy output of a product in response to the received DR level so as to reduce power consumption of the product. As a result, the DR system reduces power consumption when power rates are high so as to reduce electricity bills.

摘要: A demand response (DR) system, computer-readable medium and method are disclosed. The DR system controls a high-power-consumption load to be pre-operated or post-operated in a low-power-rate interval instead of a high-power-rate interval, and reduces an amount of power consumption required for a high-power-rate interval, resulting in reduction of power rates. In addition, limitation to household appliance operation is minimized, to greatly reduce inconvenience of a user.

摘要: A refrigerator, in which air blast fans in storage chambers are controlled so as to reduce a power consumption rate, and a control method of the refrigerator. The control method includes the steps of (a) determining whether or not a plurality of air blast devices, respectively connected to a plurality of storage chambers, and a compressor are respectively in starting conditions; (b) in case that it is determined that at least two air blast devices and the compressor are in the starting conditions, turning a part of the at least two air blast devices in the starting condition and the compressor on; and (c) turning all of the air blast devices in the starting condition on after a designated time from the turning-on of the air blast device elapses.

摘要: A refrigerator and a defrosting method thereof which are capable of achieving an appropriate defrosting operation even when a part of constituent elements included in a defrosting system fails. The defrosting method includes the steps of determining whether or not a predetermined first defrosting completion condition is usable, if the predetermined first defrosting completion condition is usable, executing a first defrosting mode, which uses the predetermined first defrosting completion condition, and if the predetermined first defrosting completion condition is not usable, executing a second defrosting mode, which uses a predetermined second defrosting completion condition different from the predetermined first defrosting completion condition, and a defrosting execution determination condition different from that of the first defrosting mode.
