    Abstract: A photodetection element includes: a first ferromagnetic layer configured to be irradiated with light; a second ferromagnetic layer; and a spacer layer sandwiched between the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer, wherein the first ferromagnetic layer includes a first region in contact with the spacer layer and a second region disposed in a position farther from the space layer than the first region, the first region is made of CoFeB alloy, and the second region is a magnetic material containing Fe and Gd as major constituent elements.

    Abstract: An optical device includes a magnetic element and a light application part, wherein the light application part configured to apply light to the magnetic element, the magnetic element includes a first ferromagnetic layer to which the light is applied, a second ferromagnetic layer, and a spacer layer sandwiched between the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer, and magnetization of the first ferromagnetic layer is inclined with respect to both an in-plane direction in which the first ferromagnetic layer extends and a surface-perpendicular direction perpendicular to a surface on which the first ferromagnetic layer extends in a state in which the light is not applied from the light application part to the magnetic element.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a patch antenna that includes a first dielectric layer in which a patch conductor is provided, a second dielectric layer in which a signal line extending in a direction parallel to the patch conductor is provided, a feed conductor provided perpendicularly to the patch conductor so as to connect one end of the signal line and a feed point for the patch conductor, a first ground pattern provided between the patch conductor and the signal line, and a second ground pattern provided on an opposite side to the first ground pattern with respect to the signal line. The first dielectric layer has a dielectric constant lower than that of the second dielectric layer.

    Abstract: A magnetoresistive effect device includes a magnetoresistive effect element first and second ports, a signal line, an inductor, and a direct current input terminal. The first port, the magnetoresistive effect element, and the second port are connected in series in this order via the signal line. The inductor is connected to one of the signal line between the magnetoresistive effect element and the first port and the signal line between the magnetoresistive effect element and the second port and is capable of being connected to ground. The direct-current input terminal is connected to the other of the above signal lines. A closed circuit including the magnetoresistive effect element, the signal line, the inductor, the ground, and direct-current input terminal is capable of being formed. The magnetoresistive effect element is arranged so that direct current flows in a direction from a magnetization fixed layer to a magnetization free layer.

    Abstract: A metasurface reflector includes: a first metal layer and a second metal layer stacked in a first direction; and a dielectric layer provided between the first metal layer and the second metal layer in the first direction. The dielectric layer includes a main surface on which the second metal layer is provided. The metasurface reflector is divided into a plurality of unit regions arranged in a second direction along the main surface and in a third direction along the main surface and intersecting the second direction. The second metal layer includes metal units respectively provided in all or some of the plurality of unit regions. Lengths of metal units, which are arranged in the second direction and set for a same wavelength among the metal units, in the second direction are different from each other.
