摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a network-instructed handover of a wireless device from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) to a Radio Access Network (RAN) of another Radio Access Technology (RAT), e.g., a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) or 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) RAT. In one embodiment, a WLAN access node determines that a handover of a wireless device from the WLAN to another RAN of a different RAT is to be performed and transmits a handover instruction to the wireless device that instructs the wireless device to perform a handover from the WLAN to a RAN of a different RAT. In this manner, the WLAN access node is able to steer the wireless device from the WLAN to a RAN of a different RAT.

摘要: Managing a plurality of non-coordinated radio access networks (RANs) connected to the core network is provided by acquiring information indicating that a wireless communication device is connected to a base station in a first of the plurality of RANs, and information indicating a location of the wireless communication device, acquiring information identifying at least a second of the plurality of RANs to which the wireless communication device may connect based on the location of the wireless communication device, and information indicating available frequencies in the second RAN via which frequencies the wireless communication device is allowed to access a network being accessible by the mobility management node, said network being operated by an operator different from those operating the first and second RANs, and delivering the information identifying the second RAN and the information indicating available frequencies in the second RAN to the wireless communication device.

摘要: An Access Point (AP) and a wireless device, as well as complementary methods performed by the AP and the wireless device for communication with each other, are provided. Embodiments of the AP-performed method can include determining one or more Clear Channel Assessment Thresholds (CCATs) for data to be transmitted to the wireless device, wherein each CCAT is associated with a particular Quality of Service (QoS) category of the data. Such embodiments can also include determining whether the channel is busy or free based on the determined one or more CCATs and based on signals or energy detected on the channel and, based on determining that the channel is free, transmitting the data to the wireless device. In some embodiments, the data can be transmitted to the wireless device while further data is being transmitted on the channel.

摘要: A first Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) node and a method therein for performing a transmission to a second WLAN node in a WLAN. The first WLAN node identifies a third WLAN node transmitting a first signal (S1) overheard by the first WLAN node, and determines to transmit, to the second WLAN node, a second signal (S2) based on the identity of the third WLAN node and on a received power of the first signal. When determined to transmit the second signal, the first WLAN node determines a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) index value by means of a link adaptation process specific for the identified third WLAN node and transmits to the second WLAN node, the second signal using the determined MCS index.

摘要: According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device operable in a first wireless communication network and a second wireless communication network comprises receiving, from the first wireless communication network, an identification of network nodes of the second wireless communication network. The network nodes of the second wireless communication network are operable to process traffic for the wireless device. The method further comprises receiving an instruction from the second wireless communication network to move traffic from a first network node of the second wireless communication network to a second network node of the second wireless communication network. The first network node is one of the identified one or more network nodes of the second wireless communication network. The method also comprises determining that an identification of the second network node is not included in the received identification of one or more network nodes of the second wireless communication network.

摘要: A node of a radio access network (RAN) receives, from a WLAN Termination (WT), an Extended Service Set Identifier (ESSID) and/or a Basic Service Set Identifier (BSSID) for one or more WLAN access points controlled by the WT. The node maintains a mapping between the ESSIDs and/or the BSSIDs and corresponding WLAN access points of the WT. Responsive to receiving a measurement report from a UE, the measurement report indicating an ESSID and/or a BSSID, the node associates the UE with a WLAN access point, based on said mapping. An interface may be established between the node and the WT.

摘要: There is provided a method of enabling identification of a wireless device in a wireless communication environment, the wireless device being attached to a cellular radio communication network. The method comprises the step of the wireless device sending, to a network node in a Wireless Local Area Network, WLAN, an identifier of the wireless device valid in the cellular radio communication network before or when contacting the WLAN for association of the wireless device in the WLAN. The identifier of the wireless device valid in the cellular radio communication network is signaled in a WLAN message to the network node in the WLAN.

The method is based on deciding, for a first communication unit intending to use the shared wireless medium for a transmission to a second communication unit, and based on a representation of robustness of a transmission on the shared wireless medium between a third communication unit and a fourth communication unit, whether concurrent use of the shared wireless medium by the first communication unit is allowed.
