摘要: In a carburetor for an internal combustion engine, a control valve is disposed with an air passage through the carburetor structure to control the flow quantity of air to be mixed with fuel from a float chamber and a pneumatic servo-motor is operatively connected with the control valve to control the opening degree of the valve. The pneumatic pressure applied to the servo-motor is electrically controlled to satisfy the following function in relation to the engine intake manifold vacuum and the engine speed.Pd=f(Pv, N)where the character Pd is the pneumatic pressure applied to the servo-motor, and the characters Pv and N respectively indicate the engine intake manifold vacuum and the engine speed.

摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation system comprises a speed detector for generating an engine rotational speed signal and a reference rotational position detection signal, a pressure sensor for detecting the negative pressure in the intake pipe of an engine to generate a negative pressure signal, a microcomputer responsive to the negative pressure signal and the rotational speed signal generated at the reference rotational position of the engine to compute an amount of exhaust gas recirculation in synchronism with the reference rotational position detection signal, and an electronic control circuit for controlling the opening of an exhaust gas recirculation control valve in accordance with the computed amount.

摘要: In an exhaust gas recirculation system including a recirculation passage to provide a communication between an intake pipe and an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, a flow control valve associated with a pneumatic servomotor to control the quantity of exhaust gas flowing through the recirculation passage in accordance with the pneumatic pressure applied to the servomotor, and first and second electrically operated valves to selectively apply negative pressure and the atmospheric pressure to the servomotor, a digital computer is adapted to calculate a desired opening degree of the flow control valve in response to an electric signal indicative of operating conditions of the engine, to calculate each energization time of the valves defined by a difference between the actual opening degree of the flow control valve and the calculated value in response to an electric signal indicative of the actual opening degree of the flow control valve, and to generate an output signal indicative of the calculated energization time.

摘要: In an exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine, a flow control valve is disposed within a recirculation pipe and operatively connected to a pneumatically operated servomotor to control the flow quantity of exhaust gases through the recirculation pipe, and an orifice is disposed within the recirculation pipe upstream of the valve to form a space between the valve and the orifice. A pressure regulator serves to modulate negative pressure from an engine intake manifold to the servomotor on a basis of pneumatic pressure applied thereto and pressure in the space. The pneumatic pressure applied to the pressure regulator is electrically controlled to satisfy the following equation.Pd=f(Pv, N)where the character Pd is the pneumatic pressure applied to the pressure regulator, and the characters Pv and N respectively indicate the negative pressure in the intake manifold and the engine speed.

摘要: In a method for measuring variations in the output of an internal combustion engine, at least one of signals respectively representing an engine speed, torque, and internal cylinder pressure of the internal combustion engine during the firing strokes of the engine is obtained. A periodical and pulsating change in the obtained signal is detected. A differential value at a portion of the change of the signal having a maximum gradient is then detected. Another method provides measuring variations in the output of the internal combustion engine by calculating the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the change of the obtained signal. Still another method provides measuring variations in the output of the internal combustion engine by correcting the obtained value in accordance with the engine speed. Still another method provides measuring variations in the output of the internal combustion engine by calculating the difference between consecutive changes.

摘要: A torque detector, particularly a torque detector for detecting a torque applied to a torque transmission shaft which is connected to a load such as a wheel of an automobile, comprises a first shaft connected to a driving shaft, a second shaft connected to a torque transmission shaft, and a plurality of elastic members, each of which is interposed between the first shaft and the second shaft for transmitting the torque of the first shaft to the second shaft while receiving the compression force between the first shaft and the second shaft when the driving shaft is driven. The first shaft comprises a flange portion wherein a plurality of long grooves are formed so as to extend in the rotating direction thereof. The second shaft comprises a flange portion wherein a plurality of long holes are formed so as to extend in the rotating direction thereof and penetrate therethrough at such positions as to be substantially opposed to said long grooves. Each of the elastic members is accommodated within each of the long holes. The projecting side portion of each of the elastic members is accommodated within each of the long grooves. The long holes are grouped into two kinds of long holes having different lengths in the rotating direction of the second shaft. One kind of long holes have a length equal to that of the long groove of the first shaft while the other kind of long holes have a length longer than that of one kind of long holes by a predetermined angular distance. Until the applied torque reaches a predetermined value, the first shaft is connected to the second shaft only through one kind of elastic members to decrease the total spring constant thereof and when the applied torque exceeds the predetermined value, the first shaft is connected to the second shaft through all of the elastic members to increase the total spring constant thereof. The torque detector further comprises a data processor by which the angular phase difference between the first shaft and the second shaft, which occurs due to the compression of the elastic members is detected and torque is calculated from the detected angular phase difference.
