    摘要: A learning apparatus for a variable valve control of an internal combustion engine includes a variable valve operating mechanism, an actuator that rotationally drives the control shaft, a control shaft sensor that detects an angular position of the control shaft, a reference position determining section that determines whether or not the control shaft has reached a predetermined reference position under the drive from the actuator, a learning section that learns an output value of the control shaft sensor when it is determined that the control shaft has reached the reference position and stores the learned output value as a sensor output reference value, and a learning preparing section that causes the control shaft to be driven by the actuator toward the reference position when a crankshaft of the engine is rotating and supply of fuel to the engine is stopped. A learning method is also provided.

    摘要: A valve operating system of an internal combustion engine enabling both valve working angle and phase to be varied, includes a variable working angle control mechanism being responsive to a supply pressure of working fluid to adjust a working angle of an intake valve, and a variable phase control mechanism being responsive to a supply pressure of working fluid to adjust a phase of the working angle of the intake valve. A control unit controls the supply pressure to each of the control mechanisms depending on engine operating conditions. In a cold-engine state that the temperature of working fluid is below a predetermined temperature, an intake valve open timing is retarded in comparison with a predetermined stability-limit valve open timing, by limiting a controlled variable of at least one of the control mechanisms.

    摘要: A valve-operating device for an internal combustion engine equipped with two cylinder banks each having a variable valve timing and working angle mechanism comprises a drive shaft, a cylindrical hollow camshaft fitted to an outer periphery of the drive shaft to be rotatable relatively about the drive shaft, a non-uniform velocity coupling including an annular disc disposed between the drive shaft and the camshaft for transmitting motion of rotation from the drive shaft to the camshaft, permitting a phase change of the camshaft relative to the drive shaft with non-uniform rotation during eccentric motion of the annular disc, and a control housing rotatably supporting the annular disc. Also provided is a decentering mechanism supporting the control housing rockably to produce the eccentric motion of the annular disc. A locus of eccentric motion of the center of the annular disc arranged in the left bank and a locus of eccentric motion of the center of the annular disc arranged in the right bank are essentially symmetrical with respect to the line perpendicular to a line segment between and including two central axes of said drive shafts of the two cylinder banks. A direction of eccentric motion of the center of the annular disc arranged in the right bank is opposite to a direction of eccentric motion of the center of the annular disc arranged in the left bank.
