Abstract: In a method for ending shoulder driving, it is detected by means of a detection unit of a motor vehicle that a wheel is located on a shoulder. By means of a sensor unit, a driver's reaction is recorded, and by means of a computing unit, the driver's reaction is assigned to one of at least two intensity classes. By means of a control unit, an intervention in controlling the vehicle is undertaken counteracting the driver's reaction when the driver's reaction has been assigned to a first intensity class, and an intervention supporting the driver's reaction is undertaken when the driver's reaction has been assigned to a second intensity class.

Abstract: Technologies and techniques for operating an assistance system of a motor vehicle for providing a shoulder function. Under a first condition, a motor vehicle is detected on a shoulder of a roadway via at least one detecting apparatus in accordance with at least one predetermined first criterion. Under a second condition, a steering behavior of a driver of the motor vehicle is determined in accordance with a second criterion, where a shoulder function is executed in accordance with which an automatic driving intervention. Under a third condition, an obstacle ahead of the motor vehicle in the direction of travel is detected by the at least one detecting apparatus in accordance with a specified third criterion, where a control signal influencing the execution of the shoulder function is output.

The invention relates to a method for automatically carrying out safety measures when a vehicle (1) drives on a shoulder (10) differing from a roadway (3), comprising the following steps: detecting the shoulder (10) which differs from the roadway (3) and laterally adjoins the roadway (3) by means of a detection apparatus (7) of the vehicle (1), providing information regarding the position and/or type of the shoulder (10) to the vehicle (1), recognizing that the vehicle (1) is driving on the shoulder (10) by means of an electronic evaluation unit (8), evaluating a dangerous situation which accompanies the driving of the vehicle (1) on the shoulder (10) and/or can accompany the same in the future, by means of the electronic evaluation unit (8), carrying out a safety measure by tensioning at least one safety belt (13) of a restraint system (14) of the vehicle (1) depending on the evaluated dangerous situation. The invention also relates to an electronic vehicle guidance system (4) and to a vehicle (1).-

Abstract: A method for terminating driving on the road shoulder by a transportation vehicle includes detection by a detection unit that the transportation vehicle is situated at least partially on a road shoulder, determination of a steering intensity of a manual steering maneuver, and assignment of one of at least two predetermined steering codes to the steering maneuver by a computing unit as a function of the steering intensity. An automatic intervention into a transportation vehicle control is carried out as a function of the assigned steering code.
