Abstract: The present invention discloses an active safety driver assistance system based on real-time driver state monitoring. The system performs driver sentiment identification and/or intelligent driver behavior analysis and/or driver seat sensing and monitoring data analysis, and performs operations such as automatic speed control to control a vehicle action. The system monitors a real-time sentiment, a driving behavior, and a fatigue state of a driver during driving, and realizes intelligent linkage to control a travelling state of a vehicle and/or provides a safety warning for the driver based on a monitoring result, so as to ensure traffic safety of commercial vehicles included in the term “two types of passenger vehicles, one type of hazardous goods vehicles, one type of freight vehicles, and one type of school vehicles” from a perspective of drivers.

Abstract: A vehicle system is disclosed and includes: a transceiver; a vehicle module configured to execute a supervised partially autonomous application (SPAA) at a vehicle; a user interface system configured to receive an input from a user to initiate a supervised remote mode for user presence control during execution of the SPAA; and a user presence module configured, until SPAA operations are ceased or completed, to perform a user presence process including iteratively i) transmitting a challenge request signal from the vehicle to a mobile smart device via the transceiver, ii) based on the challenge request signal, receiving a response signal from the mobile smart device indicating a user response provided to the mobile smart device, iii) based on the response signal, confirming user presence and whether the user response is valid for continued execution of operations of the SPAA, and iv) based on validation of the user response, performing a next operation of the SPAA.

Abstract: The disclosure includes embodiments for identifying a transmitter of a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) message. In some embodiments, a method for an ego vehicle includes modifying an operation of a communication unit of the ego vehicle to receive a V2X message that includes identification data of a transmitter of the V2X message. The method includes executing a proactive vehicle control operation on the ego vehicle to modify a distance between the ego vehicle and a preceding vehicle ahead of the ego vehicle so that the distance satisfies a distance threshold. The method includes determining whether the preceding vehicle is the transmitter based on the identification data so that a reliable determination is achieved to improve a driving safety of the ego vehicle responsive to the distance satisfying the distance threshold.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for generating or updating usage-based insurance policies for autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles may be provided. A request to generate an insurance quote may be received via wireless communication, and with the customer's permission, risk levels associated with intended usage by the customer of an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be determined. An insurance policy may be adjusted based upon the risk levels and the intended vehicle usage. The insurance policy may then be presented on the customer's mobile device for review and approval. In some aspects, the vehicle may be rented, and the intended vehicle usage is measured in distance or duration of vehicle operation. Insurance discounts may be provided to risk averse vehicle owners based upon low risk levels.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product controls a driving mode of a self-driving vehicle (SDV). One or more processors compare a control processor competence level of an on-board SDV control processor in controlling the SDV to a human driver competence level of a human driver in controlling the SDV while the SDV encounters a current roadway condition which is a result of current weather conditions of the roadway on which the SDV is currently traveling. One or more processors then selectively assign control of the SDV to the SDV control processor or to the human driver while the SDV encounters the current roadway condition based on which of the control processor competence level and the human driver competence level is relatively higher to one another.
