摘要:
Living plants and animals synthesize and often accumulate a wide variety of organic materials having a molecular weight greater than 150. These include different chemical types such as natural hydrocarbons including rubbery substances, natural resins, and natural glycerides such as oils and fats. These substances, formed in the anabolic process, are collectively called "anabolites".This invention provides a process for catalytically converting certain anabolites to liquid hydrocarbons useful for the manufacture of fuels such as gasoline and chemicals such as para-xylene. Crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites having an effective pore size of greater than about 5 Angstrom units are useful catalysts.

An improved Fischer-Tropsch process for hydrocarbon synthesis operated in the fluid mode of the Sasol's Synthol Process provides increased diesel and heavier hydrocarbon yield wherein a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst modified by a minor amount of a zeolite catalyst selectively converts enough waxy product to prevent adhesion between catalyst particles which might interfere with catalyst flow thereby permitting maximization of diesel oil and heavy hydrocarbon yield.

Polyionic derivatives of cyclodextrins and methods for preparing these derivatives are provided in which a polyionic derivative of cyclodextrin is combined with a growth factor, preferably a heparin binding growth factor. These compositions are of low solubility and are applied directly to the location of a wound. By virtue of the low solubility, the compositions remain in place at the site of application and slowly release growth factor. In an alternative embodiment, the cyclodextrin derivatives are administered in the absence of growth factor and are used to absorb growth factor present in the body at the location of the wound in order to prevent overstimulation of the wound response.

The present invention provides polyanionic, substituted CDs having cellular growth modulating activity. The invention further provides CDs having anionic groups on one side of the CD molecule. Therapeutic methods for using, as well as methods of making the CD compounds of the invention, are also disclosed herein.

Polyionic derivatives of cyclodextrin polymers and cyclodextrins immobilized on a solid surface are disclosed. Compositions and methods for separating a molecular species, including but not limited to a biologically active protein, from a mixture, for the storage of protein factors and for the therapeutic biodelivery of protein factors which employ the polyionic derivatives of cyclodextrin polymers and cyclodextrins immobilized on a solid surface are also disclosed.

The catalytic properties of a metal-containing shape selective crystalline silicate zeolite are significantly improved by converting said metal to an intermetallic compound. Thus, for example, zeolite beta containing the intermetallic component platinum zeolite demonstrates improved catalytic properties for dewaxing a hydrocarbon feedstock compared to zeolite beta containing platinum metal alone.

A process is disclosed for upgrading a naphtha which has been subjected to a reforming process which involves contacting said reformed naphtha together with added hydrogen with a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a pore size of about 4.5 to 6 Angstrom units and a silica to alumina ratio of at least 3, said aluminosilicate having hydrogenation/dehydrogenation activity. Another embodiment of the invention resides in mixing a reforming catalyst with said crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite.

Disclosed are compositions and methods for preventing or substantially inhibiting the hemolytic activity of hemolysis inducing agents. The methods and compositions are based on the use of an anionic oligosaccharide, such as polysulfated cyclodextrin, to achieve the desired reduction in hemolytic active inducing agents.

The present invention relates to siliceous zeolite catalysts produced by a method which includes selecting an amount of aluminum framework species to be retained in a zeolite catalyst product, and use of a silicon substitution treatment to replace more reactive framework species used to control aluminum framework concentration. This technique substantially preserves the selected amount of the aluminum framework species. The zeolite product obtained has high reactivity and stability.
