    摘要: A feedstock of low molecular weight oxygenates such as methanol and/or dimethylether is contacted with a mildly presteamed or hydro-thermally treated zeolite catalyst in a reaction zone to produce liquid hydrocarbons in the gasoline boiling range. The pretreated zeolite catalyst has an .alpha.-value (acid cracking activity) substantially the same as the .alpha.-value of fresh unsteamed catalyst and shows increased stability and resistance to aging under oxygenate conversion conditions of elevated temperature and pressure.

    摘要: A process for preparing hydrocarbonaceous resins from C.sub.5 fractions is disclosed in which the starting hydrocarbonaceous fraction is enriched with cis-piperylene. A catalyst system is also disclosed for the formation of the resins by polymerization and the simplest catalyst is an aluminum halide. In other embodiments, the aluminum halide is used together with a second component such as a hydrocarbyl halide and/or a halide of a metal selected from Sn, Si, B, Ti, Pb, Sb, As and others. Resins having improved physico-chemical properties are obtained.

    摘要: Organic hydrocarbons which comprise useful compounds may be obtained in a two-step process utilizing methane as a feedstock. The desired compounds are prepared by treating said methane with a halogenating agent such as chlorine, followed by contacting the methyl halide with a conversion catalyst comprising a silicalite. The silicalite which is employed is a silica polymorph consisting of crystalline silica which, after calcination in air at a temperature of 600.degree. C. for 1 hour, has a mean refractory index of 1.39.+-.0.01 and a specific gravity at 25.degree. C. of 1.70.+-.0.05 g/cc.

    摘要: A process for converting ethanol to gasoline-boiling-range hydrocarbons by contact in the vapor phase at dehydrating temperature with a bifunctional zeolite catalyst in the presence of an equimolar proportion of water. The catalyst induces simultaneous dehydration of the ethanol to reactive intermediates and recombination to a spectrum of hydrocarbons in the C.sub.1 to C.sub.10 range. Higher and lower proportions of water lead to higher yields of gaseous hydrocarbons.
