摘要: A wiper blade for wiping windows of motor vehicles has an elongated rubber-elastic wiper strip placeable on a window to be wiped and arranged substantially longitudinally axially parallel on a surface of a strip-shaped, spring-elastic support element which is connected with a wiper arm which is spring loaded toward the window and driven transversely to a longitudinal extension of the wiper blade, and a leading-edge face extending longitudinally of the wiper blade and substantially parallel to the window and facing into a wind so as to form an acute angle with the window.

摘要: A wiper blade (10) is proposed that serves to clean windows of motor vehicles. The wiper blade has an elongated, rubber-elastic wiper strip (14) which can be placed against the window to be wiped and is disposed substantially longitudinally axially parallel to one face, that is, the face oriented toward the window, of a striplike, spring-elastic support element (12), which is connected to a wiper arm (18) that is driven crosswise to the length of the wiper blade and can be urged toward the window. Even at high vehicle speeds, a requisite wiper blade contact pressure for attaining a swept field clean enough to meet legal requirements is achieved if the wiper blade (10) is provided with a leading-edge face (36 or 60), which extends longitudinally of the wiper blade and substantially parallel to the window and faces into the wind (arrow 38), and which crosswise to its length forms an acute angle with the window.

摘要: A method of producing a layer which is friction-reducing on an elastomeric substrate includes (a) providing an elastomeric substrate; (b) forming a sol by hydrolysis and condensation of at least one silane having a formula: R.sup.1 Si (OR').sub.3 (I) where R.sup.1 is one of a glycidyloxy-functional residue or a mercapto-functional residue and R' is a residue of a lower alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms; (c) coating the elastomeric substrate with the sol to form a coating; and (d) curing the coating to form a gel. The method is particularly suited for the coating of rubber surfaces, e.g., wiper blades.

摘要: A windshield wiper blade comprises a composite supporting bracket frame pivotally connected with a driven wiper arm and including a plurality of frame components, at least some of the components being provided with holding claws, and elongated wiper strip composed of an elastic material and guided in the holding claws, the wiper strip having a strip back which is engaged by the holding claws and has end portions extending outwardly beyond the claws and a longitudinal opening, the wiper strip having a longitudinal wiper lip adapted to abut against a windshield to be wiped and an elastic reinforcing rail received in the longitudinal opening of the strip back and having a length substantially corresponding to a length of the wiper strip, the longitudinal opening of the strip back being formed as a circularly closed throughgoing passage with a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section of the reinforcing rail, the reinforcing rail having at least one longitudinal side provided with two expansions which are spaced from one another and extending outwardly beyond its cross-section so as to form securing means for securing the wiper strip on the supporting bracket frame and holding the reinforcing rail in the strip back, the expansions being spaced from one another by a distance which is greater than the width of one of the holding claws in a longitudinal direction on the wiper strip, so that in a finally mounted condition the holding claws of the wiper strip engage between the expansions.

摘要: The invention relates to a wiper blade having a head (1) for fastening in the wiper holder bracket, a tilting rib (2), and a lip (3). It is characterized in that the head (1) comprises a stiff polymer, hardened by halogenation, with a Shore A hardness of 60 to 85; the tilting rib (2) comprises a comparatively soft, elastic polymer that is not hardenable or not substantially hardenable by halogenation, with a Shore A hardness of 50 to 75; and the lip (3) comprises a polymer hardenable by halogenation having a Shore A hardness of 60 to 85. The Shore A hardness of the polymer comprising the tilting rib (2) is less expediently by at least two units than the Shore A hardness of the polymer or polymers that form the head (1) and the lip (3).

摘要: The invention is based on a windshield wiper having a wiper arm (10), the mounting part (12) of which sits on a drive shaft (34) supported in a bearing housing (38), and which is connected by way of a hinged arm (46) with a joint part (14) having a wiper bar (16), whereby at least one tension spring (50), one end of which is attached to the mounting part (12) and the other end of which is attached to the joint part (14), preloads the hinged arm, and a setting device having a rocker arm (24) lifts the joint part (14) in a park position completely away from a vehicle windshield (22). The rocker arm (24) is supported in a swing bearing (46) on the mounting part (12), and a ramp (26) attached to the vehicle controls the cooperating end (28) of the rocker arm (24).

摘要: A device is proposed which is used to detachably connect a wiper blade (12) to clean windows, particularly of motor vehicles, to a driven wiper arm (10) featuring a wiper blade holder (50 or 150), whereby the wiper blade (12) that can be placed on the window (20) with a long-stretched-out, rubber elastic wiper strip (18) features a band-like, long-stretched-out elastic supporting element (16) that is curved in the longitudinal direction over its band surfaces (15, 17) on whose lower, concave band surface (17) the wiper strip (18) is arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis. On the outer convex band surface (15) of the supporting element (16) sits a connecting element (26), which features two parallel wall surfaces (36) that are aligned in a vertical plane on the band surface and extend in the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade and that a pivot pin (42) projects from each wall surface, whereby the longitudinal axes of the two pivot pins are aligned with one another. An especially simple embodiment of the articulated connection with an integrated connecting device is achieved if an adapter (66 or 166) that can move in a pendulum fashion is positioned on the two pivot pins of the connecting element (26), and said adapter features means to connect to the wiper blade holder (50 or 150) of the wiper arm (10).

摘要: In the process for coating the elastomeric rubber wiper a vaporous coating material is generated and activated by a plasma and/or laser; a protective coating is formed on a rubber wiper surface by exposing it to the vaporous coating material by CVD and/or PVD methods and process parameters for the coating process are controlled so that the protective coating includes at least three coating layers and has a total thickness of from 200 nm to 2 &mgr;m. The coating layers include at least one thicker softer elastic coating layer with elastomeric properties similar to those of the rubber wiper and other thinner harder coating layers having wear-resistant properties. The other thinner harder coating layers have respective hardness increasing from an inner most one to an outermost one of the other thinner harder coating layers.
