摘要: A diffuse transmission layer (15) is provided on the front side of a solar battery (13), and the light entering the front side of the solar battery is diffused. A part of the light is reflected toward the front side, and another part is directed to the solar battery (13). The diffuse transmission layer (15) contains a fluorescent substance (14). The fluorescent substance (14) absorbs a predetermined wavelength band of the light incident to the front side of the solar battery and emits fluorescent light. The light generated by the fluorescent substance (14) is diffused within the diffuse transmission layer (15). A part of the light is emitted to the front side, and another part falls onto the solar battery (13). Owing to this arrangement, a bright external appearance of the device can be obtained, hiding the solar battery (13). A sufficient amount of light energy can be supplied to the solar battery (13).

摘要: Disposing the titanium or titanium alloy in a vacuum vessel, and applying annealing treatment thereto by heating (a heating process); feeding a mixed gas consisting primarily of nitrogen with a trace of oxygen component into the vessel, and heating inside the vacuum vessel at temperatures in the range of 700 to 800° C. in a predetermined reduced pressure condition for a predetermined length of time such that nitrogen and oxygen are diffused into the interior of the titanium or titanium alloy from the surface thereof so as to pass into solid solution therein (a hardening treatment process); and cooling the titanium or titanium alloy to room temperature after the hardening treatment process (a cooling process), are carried out. After completion of the processes described above, a hard surface layer 101 is formed in the surface region of the titanium or titanium alloy 100. The hard surface layer 101 comprises a first hard layer 102 where nitrogen atoms 104 and oxygen atoms 105 reside in solid solution, and a second hard layer 103 where oxygen atoms 105 reside in solid solution.

摘要: A screening layer is disposed on the front side of a solar battery to diffuse reflected light from the solar battery so as to reduce the quantity of light traveling outward from the front side of the solar battery. The screening layer prevents the reflected light from traveling outward so that the solar battery disposed on the back side thereof is concealed from view. An optical member is disposed on the front side of the screening layer to transmit light of wavelengths in a predetermined wavelength range included in the light incident the front surface thereof at a predetermined transmittance, and a diffusing layer is disposed on the front side of the optical member to diffuse reflected light from the optical member in nondirectional, soft light rays.

摘要: In knitting parts (a jacquard guide needle, a guide, a needle, a tongue, a sinker, a separator, etc.), each having a portion which is brought into contact with a knitting yarn when fitted to a knitting machine to perform knitting, the surface of a portion of a metallic part base material (10) thereof is coated with a compound plating layer (12) made of a non-electrolytic nickel alloy plating layer including minute silicon particles dispersed therein, each of the silicon particles being coated with a hard carbon film. As a result, it is possible to improve the durability of the knitting parts similarly to those in which the surface of the part base material is coated with the hard carbon film and moreover remarkably reduce the processing cost.

摘要: A driver circuit for an electrochromic display device having segment electrodes and a common electrode adapted to display information in response to a display information signal. The driver circuit comprises a storage means for generating first and second output signals delayed in phase from the display information signal. A bleaching signal generating means is responsive to the first output signal, and a coloration signal generating means is responsive to the second output signal. First and second switching means are coupled to receive a bleaching signal and a coloration signal, causing an electric current to flow each of the segment electrodes in directions to induce bleaching and coloration, respectively. An auxiliary signal is applied to the first and second switching means to cause a segment to remain in its previously activated state for an extended period of time.

摘要: In an analog electronic timepiece in which the rotation of a rotor (1a) step motor (1) is decelerated through train wheels before it is transmitted an hour hand (17) and a minute hand (15), the gravity center of a center wheel composed of a center wheel gear (9), a center wheel pinion (10), and a center wheel shaft (11) to which the minute hand (15) is mounted is displaced from the axis of the center wheel shaft (11) to within an angle range of less than ±90° with respect to the opposite direction to a direction in which a time indicating part (15a) of the minute hand (15) extends so as to reduce a moment on the center wheel shaft (11) caused by a combination of the minute hand (15) and the center wheel. This makes it possible to prevent a hand-skip due to disturbance even if the value of holding energy of the step motor (1) is reduced.

摘要: A display device employing an oxide based anodic electrochromic material. By reactive ion plating iridium, rhodium or nickel in an atmosphere including oxygen and water vapor, an anodic electrochromic film exhibiting a good contrast ratio can be obtained. This film can independently be an element of the device. However, a high-performance device is provided by combining the film with a cathodic electrochromic material film. In a complementary device combining the anodic oxide film with the cathodic tungsten oxide film, a contrast ratio of 3.17 and a cyclic life of 10.sup.7 or more have been obtained.
