    摘要: A method and device for increasing the amount of fuel to an engine during acceleration is provided. A secondary source of fuel in addition to a first source of fuel is introduced into the engine during acceleration. The secondary source of fuel is introduced through a secondary fuel delivery line which is opened by a valve actuated in response to throttle control movement. In a first embodiment, the secondary fuel delivery line communicates with a fuel delivery area from which fuel is supplied to the first fuel source. The valve is pressed open by the throttle control along with a primary fuel source needle valve control, allowing fuel from the fuel delivery area to flow through the second fuel line in addition to the first fuel source. In second and third embodiments, the secondary fuel line communicates with an excess fuel return line. A valve extends across the fuel return line and secondary fuel line. The valve is movable between a closed position in which the fuel return line is open and the secondary fuel line obscured, and an open position in which the fuel return line is blocked and fuel is diverted to the secondary fuel line. In the second embodiment, the valve is moved by a control rod connected to a rotatable linkage connected to the throttle control. In the third embodiment, the valve is opened by movement of a vacuum operated diaphragm device.

    摘要: A method and device for increasing the amount of fuel to an engine during acceleration is provided. A secondary source of fuel in addition to a first source of fuel is introduced into the engine during acceleration. The secondary source of fuel is introduced through a secondary fuel delivery line which is opened by a valve actuated in response to throttle control movement.     摘要: A small watercraft hull defines a vertically oriented, central longitudinal plane of the watercraft. The hull has an engine compartment with an internal combustion engine disposed therein. The engine has an engine body comprising a crankcase, a cylinder block and a cylinder head and includes at least one cylinder bore defining a cylinder axis. An air induction system is provided to guide air into a combustion chamber of the engine. The air induction system includes a plenum chamber. An exhaust system is also provided for guiding exhaust gases from the combustion chamber to the atmosphere. The exhaust system includes an exhaust conduit. The cylinder axis is canted with respect to the central plane and the exhaust conduit is disposed substantially on a side of the central plane to which the cylinder axis is canted. The plenum chamber is positioned on a side of the central plane opposite the exhaust conduit and extends substantially vertically from a position proximate the crankcase to a position proximate the cylinder head.

    摘要: A small watercraft includes a lubrication system having at least one pump, a lubricant reservoir, and a lubricant filter. The lubricant pump is configured to circulate lubricant between the reservoir, the filter and the engine. The lubricant filter is arranged either on a forward side or a rearward side of the lubricant reservoir. Alternatively, the lubricant filter may be mounted on a side of the engine opposite the lubricant reservoir and on a forward side or rearward side of the exhaust manifold. Further, the lubricant pump and the lubricant reservoir may be mounted rearward from a rear end of the engine body. Each of the arrangements provide an engine having a compactly arranged lubrication system which minimizes the affect on the overall width of the engine caused by the lubrication system.

    摘要: A small, personal watercraft powered by a four cycle internal combustion engine. The engine is provided with a dry sump lubrication system for permitting the engine to be mounted low in the hull and this dry sump lubrication system includes a lubricant tank mounted within the hull separately from, but spaced closely to, the engine. Induction and exhaust systems are provided for the engine which include position responsive valves that close when the watercraft is inverted to preclude water from entering the combustion chamber through either the intake or the exhaust system. The induction system also includes an air inlet device that has its own position responsive check valve and which provides a centrifugal separator for separating water from the air inducted into the engine.
