摘要: An ink-jet recording apparatus has an ink-jet head with a plurality of nozzle openings, a plurality of independent ejection chambers respectively communicating with the nozzle openings, diaphragms respectively formed in the ejection chambers partly on at least one side wall of each of the ejection chambers, a plurality of driving electrodes for respectively driving the diaphragms, and a common ink cavity for supplying ink to the plurality of ejection chambers. Upon application of electric pulses to the plurality of driving electrodes, the driving electrodes respectively distort the diaphragms by electrostatic force in a direction to increase the pressures in the respective ejection chambers to eject ink drops from the nozzle openings onto recording paper.

摘要: In a method for realizing a photometric standard of optical radiation based on an absolute responsivity for a photometric quantity, there are measured using a beam of light projected from a white light source through an optical filter for the spectral luminous efficacy correction onto a silicon photodiode, a surface reflectance of the silicon photodiode, a recombination loss in a rear region beyond a depletion layer thereof, and a recombination loss in the vicinity of a boundary region between an insulating layer and a silicon layer thereof, which are independent of the wavelength .lambda. of light. Thereafter, there is calculated an absolute responsivity [A/1m] for a photometric quantity [1m] of a photodetector composed of the silicon photodiode and the optical filter, from the measured surface reflectance of the silicon photodiode and the measured recombination losses thereof.

摘要: A color filter for a liquid crystal display device comprises an optically transparent substrate, a transparent conductive layer formed on the substrate, and a color layer formed on the transparent conductive layer with red, green and blue pixels arranged in a predetermined pattern. The color layer comprises pigments for coloring purpose and transparent conductive particles having a hydrophobic surface. The transparent conductive particles are included from 5% to 50% by volume of the color layer. The color layer may preferably have a specific resistivity of from 10.sup.-1 .OMEGA..multidot.cm to 10.sup.8 .OMEGA..multidot.cm. The transparent conductive particles comprise base transparent conductive particles having a hydrophobic compound bound on their surface by coupling or graft polymerization. A typical process of the color filter production comprises the steps of: (a) forming the transparent conductive layer of a predetermined pattern on the transparent substrate, (b) preparing a micelle colloid dispersion by dispersing a pigment and transparent conductive particles having hydrophobic surface in a medium containing a redox reactive surfactant and an electrolyte, and (c) carrying out an electrolysis in the micelle colloid dispersion by utilizing the transparent conductive layer on the transparent substrate for the anode to deposit the color layer comprising the pigment and the transparent conductive particles on the transparent conductive layer.

摘要: A tristimulus colorimeter for color displays is required to remove measurement errors caused by deviations of the spectral responsivities thereof from the color matching functions. The colorimeter is provided with a light receiving unit having spectral responsivities close to the color matching functions, a tristimulus values operation unit for performing operations to calculate tristimulus values, and a chromaticity operation unit for performing operations to calculate a chromaticity. The colorimeter is further provided with a spectral distribution storage unit for storing spectral distributions of representative colored lights, a mixing ratio operation unit for performing operations to calculate a mixing ratio of a mixed light including colored lights of red, green, and blue. The colorimeter is also provided with a spectral distribution operation unit and a corrected chromaticity operation unit. The spectral distribution operation unit performs operations to calculate a spectral distribution of the mixed light while the corrected chromaticity operation unit performs operations to calculate a corrected chromaticity of the mixed light.

摘要: A simple matrix method and computer program product for stray-light correction in imaging instruments is provided. The stray-light correction method includes receiving raw signals from an imaging instrument and characterizing the imaging instrument for a set of point spread functions. For high resolution imaging instruments, the raw signals may be compressed to reduce the size of the correction matrix. Based on stray-light distribution functions derived from the point spread functions, a correction matrix is derived. This fast correction is performed by a matrix multiplication to the measured raw signals, and may reduce stray-light errors by more than one order of magnitude. Using the stray-light corrected instrument, significant reductions may be made in overall measurement uncertainties in radiometry, colorimetry, photometry and other applications. Because the PSFs may include other types of undesired responses, the stray-light correction also eliminates other types of errors, e.g., interreflection between a CCD and the detector window.
