    摘要： A video playback apparatus capable of adaptively setting a speed of slow playback in accordance with a frame rate of video content that is being played back and performing slow playback suitable for the video content, and a method for controlling the apparatus are provided. A playback speed determining unit refers to playback speed information for slow playback that is predetermined in accordance with values of video frame rates. The playback speed determining unit determines a playback speed used for performing slow playback on video that is currently being played back by using a frame rate of the video that is currently being played back and the playback speed information for slow playback. A decoding unit executes selection and interpolation of output frames of video data that is currently being played back and adjustment of output timing so that the video is played back at the determined slow playback speed.

    摘要： A video processing apparatus determines whether a video signal of a predetermined resolution is a pseudo-resolution video signal generated from a video signal of resolution lower than the predetermined resolution. The video processing apparatus generates a first frequency histogram relating to a video signal of a first resolution among a plurality of video signals which are identical in contents and different from one another in resolution and a second frequency histogram relating to a video signal of a second resolution which is lower than the first resolution, compares the first frequency histogram with the second frequency histogram, compares a similarity between the first frequency histogram and the second frequency histogram with a predetermined threshold value, and determines, if the similarity is equal to or less than the predetermined threshold value, that the video signal of the first resolution is a pseudo-resolution video signal.

    摘要： A display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display apparatus, includes a display panel having scanning lines and data lines arranged in a matrix form, and a driver for applying scanning signals and data signals to the scanning lines and data lines, respectively, so as to display a picture on the display panel. The driver includes a plurality of data line drivers disposed so as to apply data signals to the data lines, and a picture data transfer controller for transferring picture data for one scanning line drive period to the plurality of data line drivers. The picture data transfer controller further includes a supplier for supplying a signal for setting a period for intermission of picture data transfer during a period for transferring the picture data for one scanning line drive period to the plurality of data lines. As a result, the processing load on the picture data transfer controller can be reduced, and a cascade connection between data line drivers leading to a mal-operation due to noise can be alleviated.
