Also provided is an anti-fatigue agent containing at least one sesamin-class compound and at least one vitamin B1 class compound as the active ingredients.
Abstract:
A composition and food or beverage containing arachidonic acid or a compound having arachidonic acid as a component fatty acid and having an action preventing or alleviating symptoms or diseases due to aging of the blood vessels.
Abstract:
A motion compensation device to compensate for motion of an optical system causing image blur, and having a position detection device to detect a position of a motion compensation optical system relative to a lens barrel. The position detection device includes an LED to emit light, a position sensing device (PSD) to sense light received from the LED and a light screening device having a slit between the LED and PSD. The lens barrel includes a movable tube to which the LED is fixed, and a fixed tube to which the PSD is fixed. During photography, the movable tube moves in the optical axis direction from a collapsed state causing the distance between the LED and the PSD to become long, and causing a light ray emitted from the LED and incident on the slit to form a small angle with a line perpendicular to the center of the slit. As a result, an error which arises between the position of a light ray incident on a light receiving surface of the PSD and the actual position of the slit is small, and the precision of position detection of the motion compensation optical system increases. When photography does not occur, the movable tube moves in the optical axis direction and retracts into the fixed tube. As a result, the distance between the LED and PSD is short, resulting in a smaller lens barrel.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a composition that has preventive or ameliorative action on symptoms or diseases caused by decreased brain function. This composition contains, as its active ingredient, arachidonic acid and/or a compound having arachidonic acid as a constituent fatty acid and, particularly, an alcohol ester of arachidonic acid or a triglyceride, phospholipid or glycolipid in which all or a portion of the constituent fatty acids are arachidonic acid.
Abstract:
Anti-fatigue agents containing dioxabicyclo[3.3.0]octane derivatives such as sesamin which is an ingredient contained in sesame, as well as pharmaceutical compositions and physiologically functional foods that contain such anti-fatigue agents are disclosed. These compounds can safely be administered to humans and animals alike and hence allow for continued ingestion while proving effective in promoting an improvement of stamina, an increase of body strength, a relief of fatigue, and recovery from fatigue.
Abstract:
A method by which the physiological activities of sesamin-class compounds can be efficiently exhibited and enhanced, as well as an effective compound that can be combined with the sesamin-class compounds to this end. By using sesamin-class compounds in combination with more than specified proportions of arachidonic acid class compounds, the physiological activities of the sesamin-class compounds, for example, their anti-fatigue action is synergistically enhanced to provide compositions that are safe in humans and non-human animals and which hence can be ingested continuously.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an α-glycosyl isoquercitrin-containing novel composition which has a high in vivo absorbability, and hence exhibits a significant in vivo antioxidative activity. The present invention further provides preparation methods for such a composition. The composition contains a mixture of quercetin glycosides represented by the following formula: wherein Glc represents a glucose residue, and n is 0 or a positive integer of 1 or more, includes at least a quercetin glycoside wherein n is 3, and satisfies the following requirement (a):(a) the total proportion of quercetin glycosides in which n is 3, and in which other n values may be 1 or 2, or 1 and 2, is 50 mol % or more, and the total proportion of quercetin glycosides wherein n is 4 or more is 15 mol % or less, in the composition. The composition can be prepared by treating an enzymatically modified isoquercitrin with β-amylase.
Abstract:
Skin care products which contain as a vitamin C component 6-O-PUFA ascorbates represented by general formula (I): RCO-A (I) where RCO— is an acyl group derived from a polyunsaturated fatty acid, and A is a residue of ascorbic acid that binds by —O— derived from the hydroxyl group in ascorbic acid. The products show improved transfer of ascorbic acid to tissues or cells, allow the functions of ascorbic acid to be exhibited efficiently, and also have the potential to show the functions of PUFAs. Also provided are foods and beverages that contain 6-O-PUFA ascorbates represented by general formula (I).
Abstract:
A blur correction camera system includes a blur correction lens driven based upon the vibration detection signal detected by an angular velocity sensor, that corrects an image blur, a point-image function computing unit that computes a point spread function, and an image restoration computing unit that corrects an image blur by executing image restoration through image processing on a captured image by using the point spread function. The image blur that cannot be completely corrected by the blur correction lens is further corrected through image restoration so as to obtain a high quality image.
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a means of enhancing the bodily absorption of sesamin-class compounds. By using sesamin-class compounds and quercetin glycosides in combination, the bodily absorption of the sesamin-class compounds can be enhanced.
