A semiconductor package and mounting method of improving reliability by strengthening adhesive strength of both a printed circuit board and a surface mounting package, includes a chip pad on which a semiconductor device is disposed, and lead terminals, wherein at least one of the chip pad and the lead terminals have a plurality of grooves. Accordingly, in comparison with a typical package, since a plurality of grooves are formed on both a chip pad and lead terminals of a package adhering to a printed circuit, an adhesive area of both the package and the cream solder is widened so that the shearing strength may be improved and greater solder joint reliability can be acquired.

In one embodiment, a protection circuit module includes a mounting substrate and at least one connecting member positioned at one side of the mounting substrate. The connecting member is provided with a first layer having a first surface, a second layer having a second surface opposite to the first surface, and at least one spacer that allows the first and second surfaces to be spaced apart from each other.

A protective circuit board and a battery pack using the protective circuit board broadens a mount region of a device and improves operability and processibility thereof. The battery pack comprises: a bare cell including a cap plate and an electrode terminal; and a protective circuit board positioned at the outside of the bare cell and formed of a flexible printed circuit board where a protection module, a positive temperature coefficient thermistor, and first and second power terminals are mounted. Accordingly, a space for mounting a number of protection devices and a space for forming a high current pattern are secured, and the work of mounting the protection devices and forming the high current pattern are easily performed. Furthermore, since any special structure for compensating a difference in the height of a protection device and an electrode terminal is not needed, the operability and processibility increase.

The battery pack includes a bare cell including a cap assembly having an electrode terminal and a cap plate; and a protection circuit assembly including; a protection circuit board having first and second connection terminals, a first lead plate to connect the first connection terminal to the cap plate, and a second lead plate to connect the second connection terminal to the electrode terminal, the second lead plate including a groove and/or a hole formed at one side connected in the second connection. A solder cream is applied to sides and upper edges of the lead plate to securely attach the second lead plate to the protection circuit board, thereby preventing the detachment of the second lead plate from the protection circuit board.
