摘要: An optical disk reproducing apparatus having playback systems of CD and DVD containing their respective sync signals and method thereof. The playback systems respectively have sync detectors, and a controller analyzes a sync signal output from the sync detectors when a disk is detected to be mounted. The CD playback system is selectively driven when a CD sync signal is detected to perform a CD playback mode, and the DVD playback system is selectively driven when a DVD sync signal is detected to perform a DVD playback mode.

摘要: A video recording apparatus to record a television program with an optimal quality according to a residual quantity of a recording medium and a method therefor. The video recording apparatus detects the residual quantity of the recording medium and a running time of the television program to be recorded on the recording medium, to determine an optimal image compression ratio. Then, the video recording apparatus records the television program based on the determined optimal image compression ratio, making the best use of the residual quantity of the recording medium.

摘要: A method of synchronizing a first device capable of displaying video content and including the video content, and a second device capable of displaying E-book content associated with the video content and including the E-book content. The first device is connected to the second device according to a specific protocol. In response to a specific event for the video content or the E-book content occurring in one of the first and second devices, the device in which the specific event occurs generates event information about the specific event and transmits it to the other of the first and second devices, and performs the specific event according to the event information. Upon receiving the event information, the other of the first and second devices performs the specific event according to the received event information in synchronization with the device in which the specific event occurred, using synchronization information between the video content and the E-book content.
