摘要: Disclosed is a method for treatment of emphysema by which it is possible to reduce the volume of pulmonary alveoli or alveolar sacs abnormally enlarged with destruction by emphysema. The method for treatment of emphysema includes: (a) inserting a catheter having a balloon into a bronchus or bronchiole; (b) dilating the balloon to occlude the bronchus or bronchiole; (c) shrinking pulmonary alveoli or alveolar sacs on the downstream side of the bronchus or bronchiole occluded in the step (b); and (d) injecting a hardening agent through the catheter into the respiratory region and hardening the hardening agent.

摘要: The invention has as its object the provision of a medicine capable of reducing a volume of emphysema-suffering pulmonary alveoli or alveolar sacs by means of a respiratory region volume inhibitor containing a coating film formation as a main component and capable of forming a coating film in a respiratory region, characterized by being used in such a way that the coating film-forming component is administered to an emphysema-suffering pulmonary alveolar parenchyma in a human-respiratory region in an amount of 0.004 to 200 g/application, preferably 0.07 to 20 g/application and more preferably 0.5 to 5 g/application on each occasion.

The artificial cardiopulmonary circuit system includes a hollow fiber membrane oxygenator including a plurality of porous hollow fiber membranes for gas exchange having a blood contact part that contacts blood on one side thereof and a gas contact part that contacts a gas on the other side thereof, and a housing that contains the hollow fiber membranes therein. At least a portion of the blood contact part of the hollow fiber membrane oxygenator is coated with a polymer comprising a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (1) as a main structural component and having a viscosity at 65° C. of 5,000 poise (500 Pa·s) [Chemical Formula 4] (Wherein R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, R2 is an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms).

摘要: A hollow fiber membrane oxygenator of external blood circulation type has a housing and a lot of porous hollow fiber membranes for gas transfer housed in the housing. In the oxygenator, blood flows along the outer side of the hollow fiber membranes, whereas oxygen-containing gas flows along the inner side thereof. An outer surface or outer layer of the hollow fiber membrane as a blood-contacting portion is coated with synthetic polymer mainly formed of alkoxyalkyl(meta)acrylate containing a C(1-4)alkoxy group and a C(1-4)alkyl group. An intermediate layer and inner layer of the hollow fiber membranes contain substantially no synthetic polymer.

The swelling section is formed of a swelling material which swells (expands) by absorbing a liquid so that the volume of the swelling section increases.
