    摘要: In producing a side-reinforced type runflat tire in which side reinforcing rubbers with generally crescent-shaped sections are interposed between a carcass and an inner liner, the first drums 11a, 11b on which the side-reinforcing rubbers are to be attached are so configured that their diameter do not substantially fluctuate along the axial direction. The expanding operation of the first drum, the mutually approaching operation of the first drums 11a, 11b, and the approaching operation of the bead gripping rings 30A are synchronized. As a result, there is provided a tire and a method of its production capable of being produced by a multi-size mixed flow production system consisting of minimum equipments and of preventing air inclusions and wrinkles between the carcass member 4A and the side-reinforcing rubber 2A.

    摘要: An extruder system includes an extruder for axially extruding a rubber or plastic material in a barrel. A gear pump adjusts an amount of extruded material that is discharged by engagement of gears. The gear pump includes a driving pinion and a driven pinion engaged with, and driven by, the driving pinion. A gear casing accommodates the pinions and includes side plates on both axial sides of the pinions. A casing body is arranged between the side plates and encloses a space on a radially outer side of the pinions. The side plate includes a suction side plate that has a suction port arranged opposite to that side of engagement region between the pinions and a discharge side plate that has a discharge port arranged opposite to that side of engagement region between the pinions. The suction and discharge ports are maintained out of axial communication with each other.

Thus, an eccentricity amount and an eccentricity direction of the tire to be retreaded with respect to a device axial center, corresponding to the phase of the tire to be retreaded, can be respectively determined, so position control signals corresponding to the phase, eccentricity amount and eccentricity direction of the tire to be retreaded can be generated. Next, on the basis of the position control signal, a carriage causes a rasp to be moved in a radial direction with respect to the tire to be retreaded along the radial direction whose center is a device axial center, and the rasp grinds a tread surface of the rotating tire to be retreaded.

Also, the electrically conductive band is arranged so as to extend in the widthwise region ranging from a part of the top face of the first tread rubber portion to a part of the bottom face of the second tread rubber portion, whereby the tire uniformity is improved and the production is possible in a multi-size mixed production system and the conductive path from the belt to the treading face can be surely formed at a low cost.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for producing tires, in which a carcass layer is formed by continuously feeding a carcass cord from a cord passage and applying the carcass cord over an outer peripheral surface of a substantially toroidal core so as to extend in a meridian direction of the core while the core is subjected to an indexing movement in its circumferential direction. The carcass cord is arranged so as to extend linearly from one end to the other end of the core with respect to a meridian direction thereof, and vice versa, under the operation of a feed mechanism which is capable of achieving a reciprocating movement. A turn-up portion of the carcass cord is wound on, and supported by a pin at the end of the core in the meridian direction, and subsequently adhered onto the core by a press head which can be advanced relative to the pin.

    摘要: A segmented core (10) for manufacturing pneumatic tires includes a substantially toroidal core body (11) formed of a plurality of core segments (12) which are arranged in a circumferential direction in tight contact with each other. A sleeve (31) rotatably supporting a first connector member (33) at its one end is inserted into the core body (11) so that the first connector member (33) is engaged with the core body (11) on one side thereof. A second connector member (40) is then detachably connected to the sleeve (31) on its another end, and thereby brought into engagement with the core body (11) on another side thereof. An integral unit is formed by the sleeve (31), the first connector member (33) and the second connector member (40), which ensures that the core segments (12) are maintained firmly and reliably connected to each other during formation and vulcanization of a green tire supported on the core body (11).
