摘要: The present invention provides a method and a means for evaluating atherosclerotic lesions by identifying a protein (marker protein) group, the expression level of which varies according to the progression of the atherosclerotic lesion, and using the proteins. Specifically, the present invention relates to a method for evaluating atherosclerotic lesions, comprising the steps of detecting a marker protein exhibiting an expression pattern (expression variation) characteristic at a specific disease stage of atherosclerotic lesions in a subject, and evaluating the atherosclerotic lesions in the subject based on the detection result.

摘要: Arteriosclerosis induces cerebral infarction and myocardial infarction. A multi-marker (a group of protein markers) that assesses the accurate pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis and enables the selection of an adequate treatment method for arteriosclerosis and prediction of the progression of arteriosclerosis, and an evaluation method for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of arteriosclerosis that uses said marker group as an indicator have been sought. The present invention relates to A method for evaluation of arteriosclerosis comprising the steps of (a) measuring the expression of von Willebrand factor and/or complement factor D in a sample derived from a subject, (b) measuring the expression of complement component C8 and/or vitamin K-dependent protein Z in the sample derived from the subject, and (c) evaluating arteriosclerosis in the subject on the basis of the results from (a) and (b).

摘要: An improved collimating lens for use in optical memories is disclosed which comprises a first surface for receiving the incident beam which is concave, and a second surface for emitting the outgoing beam which is convex and non-spherical, characterized in that the said lens satisifies some particular conditions. If the collimating lens of the present invention is used, the beam passing through the periphery of the lens can be concentrated, and therefore, the actual number of openings of the objective lens is increased, and at the same time, the coupling efficiency can be improved. Accordingly it is possible to form very tiny spot on the disc, and the transmission rate can also be improved. Further, the appearance of the lens can be favorably shaped when manufacturing the lens, because the lens of the present invention is strong against the difference of the axes.

摘要: The present invention provides a monoclonal antibody displaying excellent specificity against heparan sulfate saccharide chains for the analysis of heparan sulfate saccharide chains specific to dentin. The invention also provides a method of evaluating reproductive dentin using the monoclonal antibody. The anti-heparan sulfate monoclonal antibody reacts against dentin-derived heparan sulfate and in particular the anti-heparan sulfate monoclonal antibody reacts strongly and specifically with uncalcified predentin regions. In the method of evaluating dentin, the antibody is reacted against an isolated dentin-derived sample and the reaction is used in order to evaluate the development of dentin.

摘要: An objective lens for an optical memory device comprising a plane surface on one side thereof for emitting a luminous flux oppositely to a disk, and an aspherical surface on the other of the side thereof for receiving a luminous flux reversely to the disk in such a manner that the following conditions (1) and (2) are satisfied:1.69.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.1.74 (1)n-1.gtoreq.(n.sub.C -n.sub.A')/0.00056 (2)where n is a refractive index of a lens medium for the wavelength of an incident light, n.sub.A' is a refractive index of a lens medium for A' beam (768.2 nm of wavelength) of a reference light beam, and n.sub.C is a refractive index of a lens medium for a C beam (656.3 nm of wavelength). Thus, the lens can sufficiently obtain the thickness of the periphery thereof, has a plenty of utility in light weight, and can follow a variation in a laser wavelength due to the switching of the emitting light power of a semiconductor laser.
