摘要: Disclosed is a sprayable nonwoven fiber weed barrier comprising an aqueous solution of nonwoven fibers and polymer binder. The aqueous solution can be directly sprayed onto the soil to suppress weed penetration through the soil. The sprayable nonwoven fiber weed barrier has a pore structure that allows water to penetrate into the soil, but curbs the growth of weeds.

摘要: In one aspect there is provided a construct, mound, layer or brick which offers utility as an erosion control medium formed primarily from a blend of biomass, cementitious binder and water. In another aspect there is provided a construct, mound, layer or brick, which offers utility as a construction medium. Also provided are processes by which an aggregate of woody biomass (a blend of chips, particles and pieces), and a cementitious binder slurry can be applied by manual methods or spray applied by mechanical means. Upon drying the biomass construct conforms and binds to a ground surface providing a hard porous medium capable of adhering to a large variety of ground surfaces and to terrain of varied slope, pitch and constitution.

摘要: An all purpose ground cover is presented for use in a landscape, walk or pathway, driveway or roadway, or other application. The ground cover includes a plurality of particles of stone, gravel or aggregate material, mulch or wood chips, or other natural and/or artificial materials and combinations thereof, mixed with an adhesive or bonding agent to form a coated material that can be easily installed within a portion of an area of application. For example, the coated material, which is moist and pliable before curing, may be shoveled and then raked level in a desired position within the landscape, walk or pathway, driveway or roadway application. Once the adhesive agent cures and hardens the coated material including the plurality of particles is substantially fastened and held together to provide the ground cover.

摘要: The treatment of an agricultural setting may be implemented by applying an adhesive using a pump sprayer. The agricultural setting may include mulch, pine straw, wood chips, and other materials used in landscaping. The adhesive may be used to keep the agricultural setting in place. For example, the adhesive may keep mulch from moving in heavy winds or during a storm.

摘要: A process of comminution of wood chips (C) having a grain direction to produce a mixture of wood particles (P), wherein the wood chips are characterized by an average length dimension (LC) as measured substantially parallel to the grain, an average width dimension (WC) as measured normal to LC and aligned cross grain, and an average height dimension (HC) as measured normal to WC and LC, wherein WC>LC, and wherein the comminution process comprises the step of feeding the wood chips in a direction of travel substantially randomly to the grain direction through a counter rotating pair of intermeshing arrays of cutting discs (D) arrayed axially perpendicular to the direction of wood chip travel, wherein the cutting discs have a uniform thickness (TD), and wherein at least one of LC, WC, and HC is less than TD.

摘要: Methods for applying a treatment, such as colorant, to an installed landscaping material (such as wood chips or mulch), reducing the need to replace worn or weathered material. The methods include applying a pre-treatment to protect elements proximate the landscape material that are not to be treated, applying a treatment liquid to the landscaping material by spraying, and then rinsing any elements proximate the landscape material that may have be inadvertently and undesirably treated. Also described is a sprayer apparatus for applying treatment liquid to a landscaping material. The sprayer apparatus includes first and second spray outlets and an agitator therebetween. In use, the landscape material to be treated is first sprayed, the material is agitated (e.g., turned), and a second spray of treatment liquid is applied to the landscape material.
