Abstract:
The invention pertains to a lining device that can be pulled through a pipe having an approximate diameter between 1 and 36 inches. The device sprays an electrically charged lining mixture 360° onto the inside pipe surface. The lining mixture is electro-statically charged to facilitate full encapsulation and adhesion to all pipe wall surfaces in a circumferentially uniform thickness. The lining device can be contained in a multipart housing having flexible rod-like components that hold the device in the center of the longitudinal axis of the pipe. The lining mixture is conveyed to the device through heated non expanding hose. The non expanding properties facilitate the delivery of the lining under pressure to the device. The device also incorporates a dwell cone having a knurled edge that atomizes the lining mixture as it is centrifugally thrown onto the pipe wall. The device may further incorporate nitrogen in mixing the lining material.
Abstract:
Rotary devices for atomizing liquid coating material are characterized by a housing having a circular front wall, a generally cylindrical side wall and a plurality of circumferentially spaced passages formed therethrough in proximity with the juncture of the front and side walls. Coating material smoothly introduced into the housing onto the front or side wall is carried in a thin film by centrifugal force toward and into the passages for being projected therefrom and atomized, and an electrostatic field is established between the device and an article to be coated for electrostatic deposition of coating material on the article. The device is rotated at a relatively high speed, and the passages bring the coating material to the full rotational speed of the device as it is projected therefrom, whereby atomization and the quality of the coating on the article are improved.
Abstract:
A curved substrate with a film includes a substrate having a first main surface, a second main surface and an end surface, and an antiglare film provided on the first main surface. The substrate has a flat portion and a bent portion. A value obtained by dividing a reflected-image diffusibility index value R of the bent portion by the sum of the reflected-image diffusibility index value R of the bent portion and a reflected-image diffusibility index value R of the flat portion is 0.3 or higher and 0.8 or less.
Abstract:
A dispensing device for dispensing a material. The dispensing device includes a somewhat cup-shaped interior opening in a first direction in which the material is to be dispensed from the dispensing device. The interior terminates at a discharge edge. The dispensing device further includes a skirt extending from the discharge edge in a second direction generally opposite the first direction. The skirt includes multiple passageways substantially equally spaced around a perimeter of the skirt.
Abstract:
Electrostatic powder coating apparatus comprising a spray module located within a bight of a conveyor having suspended from it a plurality of articles to be coated with powder prior to heat treatment to convert the powder into an adherent coat of paint or the like. The spray module comprises a veined impeller able to rotate about a vertical axis and having charged powder projected towards its center from a stationary nozzle so that vanes on the impeller impart centrifugal force to the powder particles. The impeller and nozzle assembly may be reciprocated vertically so that the sprayed powder traverses the length of the suspended and moving articles.
