    Abstract: A tyre layer application assembly and a method for applying a tyre layer around a substantially circular circumferential surface of an object. The assembly is provided with a drive which, during application, is coupled to the object for driving the object in a driven rotation about a concentric axis of rotation with respect to the circumferential surface, wherein the assembly includes a tracking device which, during application, is arranged to be fixed to a part of the tyre layer that is applied to the circumferential surface, wherein the tracking device is rotatable in a tracking rotation about the axis of rotation of the object, independent of the driven rotation of the object about the same axis of rotation.

    Abstract: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a tire that uses a thermoplastic material for a tire frame member.A tire manufacturing method includes: using a thermoplastic material to form a tire frame member (12); disposing cushion rubber (14) (unvulcanized rubber) on an outer peripheral surface of the tire frame member (12); further disposing vulcanized or semi-vulcanized tread rubber (16) on a tire diameter direction outer side of the cushion rubber (14); covering the tread rubber (16), the cushion rubber (14), and at least the tread rubber (16) side of the tire frame member (12) in an envelope, so as to push the tread rubber (16) against the tire frame member (12) side, to configure a provisionally assembled article; and accommodating the provisionally assembled article inside a container and heating the inside of the container to perform vulcanization to thereby adhere the tread rubber (16) to the tire frame member (12).

    Abstract: A tire configured from joining together plural tire frame members formed from a thermoplastic material in which sufficient strength of the joint portion is secured. Two tire halves 17A formed from a first thermoplastic material are supported by a tire supporting section 40 so as to be aligned with each other and abutting, while rotating this configuration melted welding thermoplastic material 43 is extruded from a nozzle 46 towards the joining location, and the welding thermoplastic material 43 is pressed by a flattening roller 48. The one tire half 17A and the other tire half 17A are thereby welded together with the welding thermoplastic material 43. Since the tire halves 17A themselves are not melted, deterioration of the thermoplastic material forming the tire halves 17A is suppressed, and sufficient strength of the joint portion is secured.

    Abstract: A radial tire that has excellent weight balance and appearance quality and that can be produced at excellent productivity. These are achieved by forming a carcass layer (1) by using a single rubber coated cord (C1) without producing joints on a material. The carcass layer (1) is constructed from at least one layer of cord row layer (11A) where rubber coated cords (C1) are cut on piece by piece basis and joined aligned in the circumferential direction of the tire. Each of the rubber coated cords is formed in a cross-section with an oval outline. The cord row layer is joined at only one portion in the circumferential direction of the tire, so that there is substantially no overlap on the layer.
