Abstract: A vehicle display system is provided in a vehicle and includes: a first display device configured to project a light pattern onto a road surface outside the vehicle; a second display device inside the vehicle configured to display a predetermined image to an occupant of the vehicle such that the predetermined image is superimposed on a real space outside the vehicle; and a controller configured to control the first display device and the second display device. In a case where both the predetermined image and the light pattern are displayed, the controller causes a distance from the occupant to the predetermined image to match a distance from the occupant to the light pattern.

Abstract: A head-up display for displaying graphics upon a windscreen of a vehicle includes a graphic projection module for generating images upon the windscreen of the vehicle, a user input device for receiving user-generated commands created by a user of the vehicle, and one or more controllers in electronic communication with the graphic projection module and the user input device. The controller executes instructions to instruct the graphic projection module to generate a luminance adjustment graphic, where the luminance adjustment graphic includes an adaptive color palette graphic including two or more colors. The controller receives, from the user input device, a user-generated luminance input indicating a change in a level of luminance in a selected color, where the change in the level of luminance in the selected color is selected by the user to discern differences between the two or more colors caused by a color vision deficiency.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for displaying AR elements on a display system of a construction machine. A position of the construction machine in a world reference frame is detected. An orientation of the construction machine is detected. A position of an operator of the construction machine in a machine reference frame is detected. A position of the operator in the world reference frame is determined based on the position of the operator in the machine reference frame, the position of the construction machine in the world reference frame, and the orientation of the construction machine. The AR elements are generated based on the position of the operator in the world reference frame and a position of the display system in the world reference frame. The AR elements are then displayed on the display system.

Abstract: A vehicle system includes a warning device and at least one electronic control unit. The at least one electronic control unit is configured to present a light stimulus to a driver, and determine whether the driver is facing forward, determine whether the driver holds a steering wheel, and cause the warning device to perform a first warning when it is determined that the driver is not facing forward while the light stimulus is being presented. The first warning is either the vibration or the sound. The at least one electronic control unit is configured to perform a second warning when it is determined that the driver does not hold the steering wheel before a predetermined time elapses after the first warning is started. The second warning includes the vibration and the sound.

The display control unit sets a length of the visual guidance virtual image to be displayed by the display device in the vehicle width direction to a length in accordance with a status of the object existing ahead of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system for determining a condition of a roadway a vehicle is traveling on includes an illumination device, a camera, a display, and a vehicle controller in electrical communication with the illumination device, the camera, and the display. The vehicle controller is programmed to project the light beam onto the roadway surface using the illumination device. The vehicle controller is further programmed to capture a plurality of images of the light beam on the roadway surface using the camera as the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle controller is further programmed to determine a severity of a deformation in the roadway surface based at least in part on the plurality of images of the light beam on the roadway surface. The vehicle controller is further programmed to notify the occupant of the vehicle using the display based on the severity of the deformation in the roadway surface.
