Abstract: In one embodiment, one or more suspension systems of a vehicle may be used to mitigate motion sickness by limiting motion in one or more frequency ranges. In another embodiment, an active suspension may be integrated with an autonomous vehicle architecture. In yet another embodiment, the active suspension system of a vehicle may be used to induce motion in a vehicle. The vehicle may be used as a testbed for technical investigations and/or as a platform to enhance the enjoyment of video and/or audio by vehicle occupants. In some embodiments, the active suspensions system may be used to perform gestures as a means of communication with persons inside or outside the vehicle. In some embodiments, the active suspensions system may be used to generate haptic warnings to a vehicle operator or other persons in response to certain road situations.

Abstract: A transparent display system comprises a transparent display, a touch-sensitive layer, and a heater layer. The touch-sensitive layer is connected to the transparent display and is configured to detect a user's touch on the transparent display. The heater layer is connected to the transparent display and comprises a trace array and one or more electrodes. The electrodes are operable to activate the trace array to generate heat in the location of the user's touch to generate thermo-haptic feedback to communicate information to the user.

Abstract: The Blinker Button is the only product of its kind that integrates the blinker turn signal buttons onto the steering wheel to provide drivers with a quicker method of signaling their turns. This unprecedented product is uniquely designed with buttons that are specifically developed for the right and left thumb and that are strategically located on the top of the steering wheel where individuals most commonly hold their steering wheel, in the 10 and 2 and/or 9 and 3, clock-reference training for operating a vehicle. The disclosure also includes a programmable logic configured to activate the left turn signal automatically based on a predetermined left rotation of the steering wheel and configured to activate the right turn signal automatically based on a predetermined right rotation of the steering wheel in relation to a zero rotation of the steering wheel for a straight travel of the vehicle.

Abstract: A spatial infotainment rendering system may include at least one infotainment device configured to present information to a vehicle occupant traveling along a vehicle route at one of a plurality of infotainment locations within the vehicle and at least one spatial rendering processor. The processor may be configured to receive vehicle location and direction information of the vehicle along the vehicle route, receive event data indicative of an event having a potential to affect the vehicle route, and determine an event location based on event data. The processor may also be configured to select one of the infotainment locations based on the event location relative to the vehicle location and direction to present event information to the vehicle occupant relating to the event at a location spatially related to the event location relative to the vehicle route.

Abstract: A control element for a motor vehicle provides a palpable response when touched. The control element includes a sensor, a touch-sensitive surface, which when touched causes the sensor to respond. An inert surface surrounds the touch-sensitive surface, which when touched does not cause the sensor to respond. An actuator is disposed between the touch sensitive surface and the inert surface and includes two components that can move relative to each other. One component is connected with the touch-sensitive surface, and the other component is connected with the inert surface. The actuator drives a motion of the touch-sensitive surface relative to the inert surface once a contact has been acquired.
