摘要: A human powered watercraft or land vehicle is described herein. A watercraft or land vehicle may have two pedals that reciprocated are in a linear or slightly curved trajectory but not a circular motion. As the two pedals are reciprocated, an output shaft is rotated in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction when the left pedal is pushed forward or when the right pedal is pushed forward. The output shaft may be connected to a propeller of a watercraft or a land vehicle so as to propel the watercraft or land vehicle forward. The output shaft may receive rotational input through two gears mounted to the output shaft with one-way bearings that enable the output shaft to rotate in the same direction regardless of whether the left pedal or the right pedal is being pushed forward.

摘要: In an apparatus for controlling an outboard motor having an internal combustion engine to power a propeller, and a torque converter interposed between the engine and a drive shaft and equipped with a lockup clutch, it is configured to have a throttle opening detector that detects throttle opening of a throttle valve of the engine, a throttle opening change amount calculator that calculates a change amount of the calculated throttle opening, and a clutch ON unit that makes the lockup clutch ON when the calculated change amount is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, and keeps the lockup clutch ON during a predetermined time period. With this, it becomes possible to improve acceleration performance immediately after the engine speed is accelerated.

摘要: A boat propulsion unit minimizes a shock upon switching of an engagement state of a clutch mechanism. The boat propulsion unit includes an upper clutch mechanism that is arranged on an axis of a lower drive shaft and that can be switched between an engagement state (first engagement state) in which driving force of an engine is transmitted to a downstream side, and a half clutch state in which the driving force of the engine is reduced and then is transmitted; and an advance-reverse drive that is disposed on an axis of a front propeller drive shaft and a rear propeller drive shaft and that can be switched between a forward travel engagement state and a reverse travel engagement state (second disengagement state) in which the driving force of the engine is transmitted to a front propeller and a rear propeller in order to propel a boat, and a disengagement state (second disengagement state) in which the driving force of the engine is disengaged.

摘要: A marine vessel includes a hull and has at least one load carrying facility defined by at least one loading space with a given height, a given width and a given length, whereby the loading space is provided on a bulkhead deck, and a propulsion arrangement, which includes at least one steerable thruster unit connected by a shaft arrangement to a drive means. In order to provide better access to the bulkhead deck for loading and unloading the marine vessel, the steerable thruster unit is arranged below the bulkhead deck and the drive means is arranged above the loading space. The shaft arrangement comprises a substantially vertical shaft section extending from the drive means above the loading space through the given height of the loading space and to the steerable thruster unit below the bulkhead deck.

摘要: In a drive shaft support structure for a marine propulsion machine, a gear case is provided with a vertical drive shaft receiving, bore and a drive shaft driven by an internal combustion engine is supported for rotation in the drive shaft receiving bore. A gear case is provided with a gear chamber connected to the lower end of the drive shaft receiving bore. A bevel gear mechanism for transmitting power from the drive shaft to a propeller shaft is disposed in the gear chamber. The drive shaft is supported for rotation in a bearing. The bearing is fitted in the drive shaft receiving bore and is held fixedly in place with a bearing-fastening member screwed in an internal threaded part of the drive shaft receiving bore. A covering member provided with a central hole through which the drive shaft is passed is attached to the gear case so as to close the open upper end of the drive shaft receiving bore in a liquid-tight fashion. The bearing is held fixedly in the gear case to prevent the vertical movement of the drive shaft.

摘要: An airboat and drive system for operating a pair of counter rotating air propellers that propel an airboat are described. An engine is mounted low in the hull of an airboat to lower the center of gravity and provide a more stable airboat. The drive system is connected to the engine through a drive shaft. The drive system includes a transmission, interconnecting frame, and counter rotating air propeller drive. The interconnecting frame mounts the counter rotating air propeller drive above the transmission providing proper clearance for the air propellers with the hull of the airboat. The transmission and counter rotating air propeller drive are connected through an interconnecting drive shaft. The amount of noise from a conventional belt drive is reduced. The modular design and simplified drive system is easier to assemble and align.

摘要: A marine vessel includes a rudder support structure attached to its hull and a rudder device attached to the rudder support structure in a manner allowing pivotal movement of the rudder device relative to the rudder support structure. A first drive train includes a first propeller shaft mounted in the hull and extending from the hull. A first propeller unit is attached to the first propeller shaft and is positioned forward of the rudder device. A second drive train includes a second propeller shaft that is mounted rotatably in the rudder support structure and a second propeller unit is attached to the second propeller shaft. The second propeller unit is aft of the first propeller unit and coaxially aligned therewith.

摘要: A lubricating and drive system for a marine propulsion transmission that is comprised of an upper reversing transmission and a lower final drive transmission. A lubricant pump is driven off an input shaft to the reversing transmission for supplying lubricant for actuating its clutches and also for lubricating its gears. The pickup for the lubricant pump is disposed at a lower position in the final drive gear case so as to maintain a low lubricant level therein when the unit is operating so as to reduce drag.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a marine propulsion device including an input shaft drivingly connected to a power source, a lower unit having a rotatably mounted drive shaft extending in coaxial relation to the input shaft, and a propeller shaft rotatably mounted in the lower unit, the propeller shaft carrying a propeller. A two-speed transmission is provided to drivingly connect the input shaft to the drive shaft, the transmission including a first drive arrangement between the input shaft and the drive shaft for selectively drivingly connecting the input shaft and the drive shaft, the first drive arrangement including a third shaft rotatably mounted in parrallel relation to the input shaft and the drive shaft, a drive gear, a driven gear mounted on the third shaft and in meshing engagement with the drive gear, and a one-way overrunning clutch drivingly connecting the input shaft and the drive shaft through the drive and driven gears when the rotational speed of the input shaft is less than a predetermined value. The first drive arrangement has an input-output speed ratio with a first value. The transmission also includes a second drive arrangement for selectively drivingly connecting the input shaft and the drive shaft when the rotational speed of the input shaft is greater than the predetermined value, the second drive arrangement including a selectively actuatable clutch for drivingly connecting the input shaft and the drive shaft. The second drive arrangement has an input-output speed ratio with a second value greater than the first value.
