    摘要: A process for making an aseptic sealed product-filled package in disclosed. The process includes the steps of: providing a bag having a preformed filling fitment; filling the bag with product through the filling fitment; and sealing the bag below the filling fitment. The process can further include the step of cutting off at least a portion of the bag above the seal to remove the filling fitment. Also provided is a bag for forming an aseptic product-filled package. The bag includes a pair of corresponding walls of flexible, sealable material, which are sealed about a common periphery to form an internal volume having a product portion and a fitment portion. The product portion and the fitment portion are fluidly connected. The bag further includes a filling fitment attached to at least one of the walls near the common periphery. The package is formable by aseptically sealing at least a part of the fitment portion with the fitment so as to isolate the fitment from the remainder of the bag. Optionally, the package may be formed by the additional step of cutting off at least a part of the bag above the seal including the fitment.

    摘要: A tote bin liner having a liner wall to form a container, the liner wall including a transfer spigot which provides a passage from inside the liner to a tote bin outlet, the transfer spigot being adapted to have a valve mounted thereto to provide a controlled outlet from the tote bin outlet, the transfer spigot including a tubular body which defines the passage, the tubular body having a first opening on a distal end thereof; an annular surface located around the opening; a rupturable membrane sealed to the annular surface by a continuous seal around the first opening, the continuous seal being located on the annular surface; the tubular body being shaped and configured such that when in use and the valve is mounted to the body, a seal on the valve will clamp the membrane against the annular surface, wherein the annular surface has a radially inner portion and a radially outer portion, and the continuous seal is operatively located on the radially outer portion, while the radially inner portion is adapted to allow a seal of a valve which is brought into engagement with the tubular body to form a seal therewith, with the seal of the valve being arranged to isolate the continuous seal from elevated temperature and pressure arising from sterilizing fluid passing through the passage to sterilize the membrane.

    摘要: A filling head apparatus is provided which has an elongated housing which contains valves for regulating flow of a sterilizing medium and for regulating flow of a fluid to be filled in a pack to a filling head space, the filling head space being defined by one end of the housing, and for regulating emptying of sterilizing medium and residual fluid from the filling head space. A first elongated valve which is centrally disposed within the housing and is longitudinally displaceable for regulating the flow of the sterilizing medium to the filling head space. A second elongated valve for regulating the fluid flow to the filling head space circumscribes the centrally disposed first vavle and is capable of coaxial movement with respect to the first valve. An emptying pipe containing the valve for regulating emptying of sterilizing medium and residual fluid from the filling head space is arranged laterally to the housing at the filling head space.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for aseptic filling of pre-sterilized non-rigid containers, especially foodstuffs containers. The said process involves taking laying hold of the container by means of air-suction, followed by sterilization of part of the container and the means holding same, then piercing of the actual container and subsequent introduction thereinto of sterile gas. This is followed by introduction of the foodstuff into the container and ultimate hermetical heat-sealing of the container thus filled. The apparatus used for carrying out the process comprises a movable workhead, positioned appropriately along a traverse overlying the conveyor bringing up containers for filling the workhead has means for taking hold of the container by suction, means for piercing the container, and for introducing sterile gas and foodstuff into the container. The workhead carries out such operations by moving into angularly distinct respective working postures. A series of movers in the apparatus provide for displacement of the workhead itself and of its individual parts. The apparatus also has feeder means for supply of foodstuff, sterile gas and sterilizer fluid, and means for controlling the start and finish of the individual stages, and regulating the operation thereof.

    摘要: For filling successive spouted bags with a beverage or like fluid product to a prescribed weight, a filling valve assembly and a cap remover assembly are immovably mounted side by side in a germfree chamber formed over a weighing platform. After the germfree chamber and the interior of a filling head forming a part of the filling valve assembly have been sterilized, a bag is placed on or over the weighing platform, with its capped spout caught by a spout carrier arm, which is supported on the weighing platform for both linear up-and-down motion and pivotal motion about a vertical axis. Following the removal of the cap from the spout by the cap remover assembly, the arm carries the spout to a position under the filling valve assembly and holds the spout against the filling head. The fluid is first charged into the bag at a high rate to an extent slightly less than the prescribed weight and then, with the spout separated and held at a slight distance from the filling head, at a reduced rate to the prescribed weight as ascertained by the weighing platform. Sterilized air under pressure is introduced into the germfree chamber throughout the progress of the filling operation to maintain the chamber at a higher-than-atmospheric pressure.
