摘要: A method for determining the effects of a fancy yarn by measuring the yarn diameter. The yarn sections between the effect areas are referred to as webs. The effect area is determined in that the beginning of the effect is defined by meeting a first criterion and the end of the effect is defined by meeting a second criterion. A specifiable number of the largest diameters is determined between the beginning and end of the effect, an average is formed from the diameters determined, which is specified as the diameter of the effect, and the effect length is determined from the beginning and end of the effect.

摘要: To detect yarn defects such as protruding filaments, broken filaments, ringers, fuzzballs, stripbacks and the like, a yarn sheet 9 traveling in a plane is scanned by light beams from at least two light barriers 10, 11. When a yarn defect interrupts the light beam of a light barrier, a detector pulse is triggered, appropriately amplified and transformed and sent to evaluating means 22. Such a detector pulse is triggered each time a yarn defect passes through a light barrier, so that the travel time or time difference T1,2 between the trip times of a yarn defect through the two light barriers can be determined by the evaluating means. Since the yarn sheet 9 passes through the light barriers at a constant velocity v, the travel times for the various individual ends from one light barrier to the next will differ and therefore can be used to determine the distance S normal to the yarn traveling direction of the yarn defect to the point of intersection of the light beams of the two light barriers. When one of the light beams is oriented perpendicularly to the yarn traveling direction, the equation SnullT1,2*v/tan cc applies. The light barriers 10, 11, which each comprise a light source and a detector, are arranged relative to each other in a V-shape and their light beams form the angle null.

摘要: The invention relates to a measuring device for thread-like test samples (3), comprising a measuring slit (2) exhibiting measuring areas (6, 7) for measuring characteristics of a test sample which moves longitudinally, said measuring areas being associated to a measuring device. A coating (8) made of an abrasion-resistant material is applied over the whole measuring slit and its measuring areas (6, 7) in order to define more freely the dimensions of said measuring slit and especially to obtain a narrower measuring slit.

摘要: Process for monitoring a moving yarn sheet by means of a light beam, photodetectors and an electronic analyzer, whereby the yarn sheet is guided via thread guide rods before and after the monitoring site and the shadowing of the light beam caused by an increase in thread thickness is directed perpendicularly to the direction of travel of the yarn sheet for detection by photodetectors, and evaluated and recorded by the electronic analyzer, characterized in that the intensity of a single light beam is detected by at least two photodetectors arranged in series in the direction of travel of the yarn sheet and in that the evaluation by the electronic analyzer is such that a recording only takes place when the shadowing is detected by one or more of said photodetectors following in the direction of travel of the yarn sheet with a time delay corresponding to the running speed of the yarn sheet is disclosed. It is preferred to employ at least four photodetectors of which at least two are situated in series in the direction of travel of the yarn sheet and at least two are arranged one above the other such that at least one photodetector is positioned below the yarn sheet plane and at least one photodetector is positioned above the yarn sheet plane.

摘要: A detector for indicating the presence of partially broken, frizzed or knotted sections of threadlines, such as may occur during fiber forming operations, includes a housing, a lamp for directing light onto a rapidly moving threadline, a photoelectric cell for receiving such light and generating an electrical signal in response to it, guide means for snubbing the moving threadline and maintaining it in substantially constant positional relationship with the light, and an electronic signal amplification circuit in the housing, utilizing controlled capacitive buildup and decay of electronic signals responsive to those from the photoelectric cell, with the controlled buildup and decay being such that breaking of thread filaments, frizzing or knotting occuring over a length of from 2 to 50 times the width of the threadline actuates a counter, marker, cutter, visual or audio signal or other indicator or responsive device when the broken filaments are of a thickness from 1 to 30 percent of the threadline. Other aspects of the invention include the mechanical structure of the detector, electronic circuitry and use of the device.
