Abstract:
Provided are a novel crosslinking agent compound, and a superabsorbent polymer prepared by using the same. More particularly, provided are a crosslinking agent compound having a novel structure, which exhibits excellent crosslinking property and thermal degradability, and a superabsorbent polymer prepared by using the same.
Abstract:
This application discloses a novel process for the preparation of himbacine analogs useful as thrombin receptor antagonists. The process is based in part on the use of a base-promoted dynamic epimerization of a chiral nitro center. The chemistry taught herein can be exemplified by the following:
Abstract:
A process for preparing alkynecarboxylic acids and alkyne alcohol esters of alkynecarboxylic acids, includes an oxidation reaction of an alkyne alcohol with from 1 to 10 molar equivalents of a hypohalite based on the number of functional groups to be oxidized in the presence of a nitroxyl compound at a pH of less than 7. There is also a partial oxidation reaction of the alkyne alcohol with from 0.5 to 5 molar equivalents of a hypohalite based on the number of functional groups to be oxidized in the presence of a nitroxyl compound at a pH of less than 7.
Abstract:
Alpha-fluorinated alkynoic acids and pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds are provided, which are useful for the treatment and prevention of seizures such as are associated with epilepsy. The compounds of the invention exhibit reduced side effects, relative to valproic acid, with regard to sedation and teratogenic potential.
Abstract:
A process for preparing methyl 4-oxo-5-tetradecynoate useful as an intermediate for synthesizing (R,Z)-5-dec-1-enyl-oxacyclopentan-2-one, which comprises reacting monomethyl succinate with an alkyl chlorocarbonate in the presence of a base to form an acid anhydride and reacting the acid anhydride with a Grignard reagent of 1-decyne. Methyl 4-oxo-5-tetradecynoate can be prepared in high yields at high purities by this process.
Abstract:
Dicarboxylic acids, such as adipic acid, and diesters, such as adipates, may be produced by hydrogenating alkynes that may be produced from raw materials salvaged from waste stream processes. The carbons of the dicarboxylic acids are provided by alkynes generated from biomass waste and carbon dioxide recovered from waste streams such as exhaust gases.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an energetic reactive plasticizer for a plastic bonded explosive (PBX), and specifically an energetic reactive plasticizer for PBX which has high performance and insensitiveness without a plasticizer leak by being bonded with a polymer binder for a plastic bonded explosive.
