The present invention relates to a two-component urethane resin composition for a polishing pad including a base resin containing an isocyanate group-terminated urethane prepolymer (A) and a curing agent containing an isocyanate group reactive compound (B), and characterized in that the prepolymer (A) is a prepolymer having an isocyanate group equivalent of 250 to 700 and being produced by reacting a polyisocyanate (a1) with an aromatic polyester polyol (a2) and a polyether polyol (a3) which are used as polyol components in combination at a mass ratio of (a2)/(a3)=5/95 to 70/30, and the aromatic polyester polyol (a2) has 2 to 11 aromatic rings in its molecular chain, and also relates to a polyurethane polishing pad using the resin composition and a method for producing a polyurethane polishing pad.

There is provided a solid golf ball comprising a core and a cover made from polyurethane obtained by curing an isocyanate group-terminated urethane prepolymer including a residual polyisocyanate monomer content of not more than 0.1% by mass using an aromatic polyamine curing agent. The golf ball satisfies moldability of the polyurethane cover and durability, and exhibits excellent ball characteristic such as flight performance and shot feeling.

The present invention relates to an article for altering a surface of a workpiece, or a polishing pad. In particular, the polishing pad includes a polyurethane urea material wherein at least a portion of the polyurethane urea material contains cells which are at least partially filled with gas. The polyurethane urea material can be prepared by combining polyisocyanate and/or polyurethane prepolymer, hydroxyl-containing material, amine-containing material and blowing agent. The polishing pad according to the present invention is useful for polishing articles, and is especially useful for chemical mechanical polishing or planarization of microelectronic and optical electronic devices such as but not limited to semiconductor wafers.
