摘要: An apparatus senses the proportion of FOG flowing with effluent from a sink to a p-trap. A pipe portion is connectable for use as a tailpipe for a sink with a first electrode within the pipe portion and a second electrode outside the pipe portion. Conductors connect the first and second electrodes to a capacitance sensor, so changes in capacitance between the electrodes caused by changes in proportions of FOG content in effluent from the sink can be detected and/or monitored. The monitoring can be remote and can cause an action when an excess FOG content is detected.

摘要: A water inlet protection system is provided. The system may an adjustable frame defining an interior cavity, the adjustable frame including a plurality of rigid base members, a plurality of slidable corner members, a plurality of nut-and-bolt fasteners, and one or more tabs extending from one or more of the corner members. Each of the slidable corner members includes one or more slots, and each of the nut-and-bolt fasteners includes a bolt that extends through one of the one or more slots and one of the rigid base members. When the respective bolt is loosened, the respective slidable corner member is slidable along the respective slot atop the respective rigid base member, thereby altering a boundary of the interior cavity. When the respective bolt is tightened, the respective slidable corner member is fixed in place atop the respective rigid base member, thereby fixing the boundary of the interior cavity.

The system generally comprises an insert cartridge for collecting both solids and grease contained in wastewater draining from the sink. The cartridge can be easily removed through the sink drain, emptied, and reinstalled, for example, using a handle positioned at the top of the cartridge and accessible through the sink drain.

摘要: There is an inlet baffle assembly for use in an in-line interceptor for separating FOG from wastewater and a method of cleaning the inlet baffle assembly without the need for removal from the interceptor. The inlet baffle assembly has an inlet baffle for the grease collecting chamber of an in-line interceptor which defines a flow channel through which influent enters the collecting chambers and has a moveable section moveable between open and closed positions. The inlet baffle assembly also has a flow control element to control the rate of flow of influent entering the flow channel when the moveable section is in the closed position. The flow control element is accessible for cleaning when the moveable section is in the open position. After cleaning, the moveable section is moved into the closed position to facilitate fluid flowing through the inlet baffle assembly into the grease collecting chamber.

摘要: A separator unit includes a tank defining an internal volume and having an inlet and an outlet. An insert separates the tank into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The insert includes a weir at an upper side to define an intake area for receiving an influent liquid, a first opening in the intake area for delivering liquid down into the lower chamber and a second opening on an opposite side of the weir for delivering liquid from the lower chamber back up into the upper chamber. The separator may include one or more of the first opening being of arcuate shape, a perforated shroud extending downward from the insert within the lower chamber and/or an upflow pipe extending downward from the second opening into the lower chamber, a bottom of the upflow pipe covered, and a slot opening in a sidewall of the upflow pipe.
