    摘要: When the driving wind and the cooling wind are generated, based on the phenomenon in which the temperature difference is generated between the front surface and the rear surface of the radiator (14), the temperature difference between the detection value of the rear temperature sensor (22) and the detection value of the front temperature sensor (21) is compared with the abnormality determination value so that it is determined whether the front temperature sensor (21) and the rear temperature sensor (22) are properly fixed on the radiator (14), whereby it is determined whether the abnormality (unauthorized alteration) exists. By setting the abnormality determination value according to the ambient temperature and the vehicle speed, corresponding to a variation in temperature difference between the front surface and the rear surface of the radiator (14), the abnormality determination value is varied to be set at a proper value.

    摘要: A watercraft includes a monitoring and control system to sense the operational state of a catalytic device and a cooling system used with an exhaust system of the watercraft. The monitoring and control system receives temperature reading from an exhaust system temperature sensor. The sensor desirably is located in a portion of the exhaust system which the cooling system cools. The monitor and control system activates a first level warning indicators if the sensed temperature of the exhaust system exceeds a preselected first warning temperature. And if the sensed temperature exceeds a presented second warning temperature, the monitoring and control system reduces engine speed and eventually stops the engine. The monitor and control system also communicate with an exhaust gas temperature sensor which is located in the vicinity of a catalytic device of the exhaust system. If the sensed temperature is within a desired temperature range, the control system activates a system-ready indicator. If, however, the sensed temperature exceeds the desired temperature range, the control system activates warning indicators.

    摘要: A quick connect diagnostic apparatus for the cooling system of a vehicle engine includes first, second and third temperature sensors which are configured to attach to liquid hoses which circulate cooling liquid throughout the engine, the first sensor attaching to a hose directly from the engine, the second and third sensors attaching to input and output hoses, respectively, connected to the radiator. The sensors are housed within a cuff structure which is wrapped around the hoses to detect the fluid temperatures within the hoses. Each sensor is connected to an analyzer which compares the first signal to a temperature threshold signal, compares the first signal to the second signal to generate a first difference signal which is then compared to a thermostat threshold signal, and compares the second and third signals to produce a second different signal which is compared to a radiator threshold signal. The analyzer utilizes the various difference signals and temperature signals to produce output signals indicative of the engine temperature, and the operational status of the radiator and thermostat. Output circuitry electrically coupled to the analyzer provides humanly perceptible outputs in response to the output signals from the analyzer.

    摘要: A temperature control system in a liquid cooled internal combustion engine equipped with a radiator controls the state of a flow control valve for controlling flow of a temperature control fluid through a passageway leading to the radiator. Sensors detect the temperature of the temperature control fluid, t1, and the ambient air temperature, t2. An engine computer receives signals from the sensors, produces control signals based on both of the sensor signals, and sends the control signals to the flow control valve to control the state of the valve. The values t1 and t2 define a mathematical function of t1=.function.(t2) which forms a two-dimensional curve on an orthogonal coordinate system having axes t1 and t2. The curve divides the coordinate system into two regions, one on either side of the curve. The engine computer control signals prevent flow through the valve when coordinate pairs of t1 and t2 lie on a first region of the coordinate system and allow the flow when coordinate pairs of t1 and t2 lie on a second region of the coordinate system.
