摘要: A misfire detecting device is provided for a water jet propulsion watercraft in which a propulsion unit operates through an operation of an engine to propel the water jet propulsion watercraft. The misfire detecting device includes injectors arranged to inject fuel into the engine under a fuel injection amount adjusting control implemented by an electric control device, ignition plugs arranged to ignite the fuel injected into the engine from the injectors to operate the engine, an oxygen sensor arranged to detect that a misfire occurs in the engine, a warning lamp and buzzer arranged to inform that the misfire occurs, etc. The misfire detecting device prevents the warning lamp and the buzzer from informing the warning if the misfire is caused through the control by the electric control device. Accordingly, the misfire detecting device for a water jet propulsion watercraft ensures that an operator cannot mistake a misfire caused under a control for a misfire caused due to an abnormality of an engine or other components thereof.

摘要: An exhaust gas sensor inhibits a detecting part of an exhaust gas sensor from being exposed to water and has high detection accuracy and high durability. The exhaust gas sensor has a sensor body and a protective cover. The sensor body has an outer housing. The outer housing has a plurality of gas inlets. A gas detection element for detecting a component of the exhaust gas (e.g., oxygen) disposed within the outer housing. The protective cover has a cylindrical shape and has a plurality of protrusions at its opposing ends. The protrusions provide a tight fit with the outer housing. The protective cover is attached to the outer periphery of the outer housing without closing gas inlets formed through the outer cylinder by press-fitting the outer cylinder into the protective cover.

摘要: An intake system for a supercharged engine can include a blow-off passage provides communication between the upstream side of the throttle valve and the upstream side of a supercharger. A blow-off valve opens and closes the blow-off passage. The blow-off valve can be configured to open and close based upon pressure on the downstream side of the throttle valve. The present intake system can further comprise a first conduit providing communication between the upstream side of the throttle valve and the blow-off valve, a second conduit providing communication between the downstream side of the throttle valve and the blow-off valve, and a solenoid valve for switching between the first and second conduits.

摘要: A watercraft can include an engine connected to multi-furcated intake passages and multi-furcated exhaust passages. The engine can have a crankshaft with its end extending rearwardly of the crankcase. The engine can also have a supercharger and an intercooler. The intercooler and the supercharger can be located forward of the crankcase. An exhaust pipe, designed to discharge combustion gas out of a body through multi-furcated exhaust pipes, is disposed above the supercharger. Forward of the supercharger is located an intake box, on the upper surface of which an intake duct is provided. The intercooler can be located beside the supercharger, through which the supercharger feeds the compressed air toward the engine.

摘要: An improved fuel delivery and injection system for a small watercraft engine reduces the heat effects within an enclosed engine compartment upon a fuel pump of and the fuel within a fuel injection system. The fuel delivery system includes a vapor separator and a high-pressure fuel pump. The fuel pump is at least partially located within the vapor separator. The fuel within the vapor separator cools the fuel pump. The vapor separator also is positioned between a pair of air ducts such that an air stream between the ducts cools the fuel within the vapor separator. This arrangement consequently improves the consistency of the air/fuel ratio in the fuel charges delivered to the engine cylinders, provides a compact structure between the fuel pump, and the vapor separator and improves the durability of the fuel pump.

摘要: An improved arrangement of a fuel injection system within a personal watercraft reduces the likelihood that certain sensitive components of the fuel injection system will contact water, regardless of the orientation in which the watercraft floats. Because of the sporty nature of personal watercraft, these boats often are inverted or laid on their sides. The fuel injectors of the fuel injection system are positioned within an engine compartment of the watercraft so as to remain above the water surface level with the watercraft in any orientation. In one mode, the fuel injectors also are positioned above the ends of air ducts through which air is introduced into the engine compartment. The fuel injectors are also shielded by protective covers. As a result, the occurrences of water contacting the fuel injectors is reduced.

摘要: A watercraft includes a trim control and a fuel injection system. The fuel injection system is designed so that the discharge portion of the supply line from the low pressure pump to the high pressure pump extends in a generally downward direction regardless of the trim adjusted condition of the watercraft. In a like manner, the fuel rail which has a high pressure inlet at one end and a return line at the other end is disposed so that the return line is disposed vertically above the inlet under all trim adjusted conditions for automatic vapor purging.

摘要: An improved fuel delivery and injection system for a small watercraft engine reduces the heat effects within an enclosed engine compartment upon various components of the engine and upon the fuel within the fuel system. The fuel system integrates a fuel pump within a fuel tank at a location which minimizes the effects of watercraft leaning. The inlet of the fuel pump desirably corresponds, in the lateral direction, with a position of an inlet to the jet pump unit. In this position, the pump is less likely to draw air as the watercraft maneuvers. The fuel lines also are arranged within the engine to minimize the effect of engine heat produced by the exhaust system on the fuel delivery lines. The arrangement of the fuel pump and fuel delivery lines consequently improves the consistency of the fuel/air ratio within the fuel charge produced by the engine as less air and vapor delivered to the fuel injectors.

摘要: A small watercraft includes an improved exhaust system that reduces the width of the engine and associated exhaust pipes. The watercraft includes a hull having a length in a longitudinal direction, a width in a lateral direction, and a longitudinal center line. A multi-cylinder engine is carried by the hull. The engine includes an exhaust system with multiple exhaust inlet ends and at least one downstream end. The exhaust inlet ends communicate with the respective cylinders of the engine. A flow axis through each inlet end extends in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hull. As a result, the exhaust system does not significantly protrude in a lateral direction beyond the sides of the engine. The hull consequently has a smaller width than the prior watercrafts which improves it maneuverability.
