摘要: A damper system may include an electrically adjustable hydraulic shock absorber having an electromechanical valve and a damper controller. The damper controller may include a solenoid driver circuit electrically coupled to the electromechanical valve, and disposed at the shock absorber. The solenoid driver circuit may be operable to drive the electromechanical valve in an open state in which hydraulic fluid flows between a pressure tube and a reserve tube. The solenoid driver circuit may include a plurality of transistors that are operable to generate a first current to place the electromechanical valve in the open state and a second current less than the first current to hold the electromechanical valve in the open state.

A tubular wheel-side member is on a vehicle wheel side and coupled to the body-side member, and moves relative to the body-side member in an axial direction. A hollow cylindrical cylinder is inside of the body-side member and the wheel-side member and includes a weak portion in the axial direction on an outer side. A rod member is inside of the body-side member and the wheel-side member and moves relatively in the axial direction in accordance with movement of the body-side member and the wheel-side member. A first defining member secured to an end portion of the rod member and in contact with the cylinder movably in the axial direction of the cylinder defines space in the cylinder.

摘要: An object is to provide a cylinder device which can be used successfully over a long period of time. The cylinder device includes a cylinder, a piston, an external cylinder, a tank and first piping. The piston is slidably inserted into the cylinder. The piston divides an interior of the cylinder into a rod-side chamber and a piston-side chamber. The external cylinder is disposed outside the cylinder and covers the cylinder. The tank is formed in a space between the cylinder and the external cylinder and stores an operating fluid. The first piping constitutes part of a first passage through which passes the operating fluid supplied to and discharged from the rod-side chamber or the piston-side chamber. The first piping has two ends one of which has a larger outer diameter than the other end. The first piping is disposed in the tank.

摘要: A shock absorber including a damping force generation mechanism (30a) includes a spring member (106a) having radially extending spring portions (117) having high spring constants and circumferentially extending spring portions (118) having low spring constants. The radially extending spring portions and the circumferentially extending spring portions are integrally configured so that biasing forces thereof act dynamically linearly. An annular stepped portion limits strokes of the circumferentially extending spring portions and is provided on a cylindrical wall portion of a pilot body. As a result, within a range of damping force control, only the radially extending spring portions of the spring member are elastically deformed, whereby the durability of the spring member is enhanced, and only biasing forces of the radially extending spring portions of the spring member act on a pilot valve member, and thereby variation in a damping force is reduced so that the performance is improved.

摘要: A twin tube damper includes an inner fluid chamber, an outer fluid chamber in fluid communication with the inner fluid chamber and a first fluid circuit that is in fluid communication with the inner fluid chamber. The first fluid circuit includes a primary flow passage and a first bypass flow passage. A second fluid circuit is in fluid communication with the outer fluid chamber and with the first fluid circuit via a common flow passage. The second fluid circuit includes a primary flow passage and a second bypass flow passage. A switchable flow valve is provided for directing fluid flow between the first bypass flow passage and at least one of the common flow passage and the second bypass flow passage, and between the second bypass flow passage and at least one of the common flow passage and the first bypass flow control passage.

摘要: An integrated and self-contained suspension assembly having a gas spring integrated with a shock absorber (damper) is described. The rigid gas cylinder of the air spring is divided into a first gas chamber and a second gas chamber. A flow port connects the first and second gas chambers, and can be manually opened or closed by valve and a simple one-quarter turn rotation of an external knob to instantly switch the gas spring between two different spring rates. The different spring rates are functions of the separate or combined volumes of the two gas chambers. The integrated suspension assembly is compactly packaged and self-contained, i.e., does not require any externalities, such as gas sources or electricity, to operate.

摘要: A hydraulic shock absorber has a subassembled reservoir cartridge including a gas chamber and a free piston. The reservoir cartridge, a separator and a cylinder are inserted into a base shell, and an oil seal is secured to the base shell under application of a predetermined axial load, thereby fixing together these members in the axial direction. An annular hydraulic fluid passage is formed between the base shell and the reservoir cartridge, and another annular hydraulic fluid passage is formed between the base shell and the cylinder. A damping force generating mechanism is attached to a side of the base shell. Damping force is generated by supplying a hydraulic fluid sealed in the cylinder to the damping force generating mechanism through the annular hydraulic fluid passages. Stable damping force is obtained through pressurization by the gas chamber and through gas-liquid separation by the free piston.

摘要: Suspension system (10) includes a compressible fluid (12), a suspension strut (14), a hydraulic cavity (16), a reservoir (18), and a volume modulator (20). The hydraulic cavity (16) is at least partially defined by the suspension strut (14) and is adapted to contain a portion of the compressible fluid (12). The hydraulic cavity (16) and the compressible fluid (12) supply a suspending spring force that biases a wheel (22) of a vehicle toward the road surface. The volume modulator (20) selectively pushes the compressible fluid (12) into the hydraulic cavity (16) and vents the compressible fluid (12) from the hydraulic cavity (16), thereby actively modulating the suspending spring force.
