    摘要: A steam generator system for a pressurized water reactor which employs an external to containment steam drum and recirculation loop piping. The steam generator system changes the arrangement of a typical pressurized water reactor recirculation steam generator by relocating the functions of steam separation and feedwater preheating outside of the reactor coolant system. The steam generator system and thermal hydraulic conditions are selected in order to minimize the size of the steam generator heat exchanger component volume inside of the containment. The external steam drum component can be isolated in accident conditions when desired and is used as a source of secondary fluid inventory for improved decay heat removal capability and tolerance for loss of feedwater events. Thus, the steam generator component volume inside of the containment is reduced and the amount of maintenance required for the reactor coolant system components are similarly reduced.

    摘要: A heat exchanger apparatus for receiving water from a steam drum (1) and providing steam and heated unevaporated liquid water to the steam drum includes a first evaporator (EVAP-1) and a second evaporator (EVAP-2). The first evaporator can receive water from a steam drum via a first feed conduit (9) and the second evaporator can receive water from a second feed conduit (11). Both evaporators can output heated fluid to the steam drum via a combined evaporator output conduit (13). Each first evaporator passageway (14) only makes a single pass through a gas duct (15) having a heated gas flow (7) passing therethrough while each second evaporator passageways (24) can make one or more passes through the gas duct for transferring heat from the gas to the fluid within the evaporators. A portion of the first feed conduit can also have a pre-specified volume a pre-specified height below the first inlet (10).

    摘要: A one-piece extrusion (50) having a flat bottom portion (54) and supporting flat sides (74) is described. The one-piece extrusion (50) is particularly appropriate for use as a header for a heat exchanger in a cogeneration facility or other high pressure vessels. The header (50) is extruded out of steel, stainless steel, or a steel alloy. The flat bottom portion (54) of the header (50) provides a flat surface for drilling apertures (80) and connecting tubes (56) to the header (50), eliminating the need for complicated manufacturing and attachment procedures encountered with the cylindrical headers currently used. The flat bottom portion (54) also provides more surface area for attachment of the tubes (56). The flat sides (74) of the extrusion impart structural support and integrity to the header (50) and allow a greater number of headers to be placed closer together without taking up the space required for typical cylindrical headers.

    摘要: A spray liner assembly supported in a pressurized desuperheater header of a steam boiler. The liner is cylindrical shaped and open at each end, and is attached and axially retained at one end to the cylindrical header inner wall by multiple adjustable brackets, and is slidably supported at the opposite end by similar brackets. The liner is also flexibly supported radially at dual points on opposite sides of the liner at an intermediate point along its length with each support using a captured metal ball, so as to provide a radial inward elastic loading to the liner and also permit longitudinal and radial expansion and contraction of the liner within the header.
