摘要: A boiler is provided with: a boiler body in which the water level inside water pipes when combustion by a burner is stopped is lower than the upper ends of the water pipes; water supply means; control means which controls the water supply means depending on the water level in the boiler body; header water level detection means which detects a water level existing inside an upper header; and a downcast pipe. The control means performs first control for controlling the water supply means so as to lower a boiler body water level when the water level detected by the header water level detection means reaches a header set water level and second control for controlling the water supply means so as to raise the boiler body water level when the amount of drop in the boiler body water level reaches a predetermined amount after the first control.

摘要: The boiler is provided with: a boiler body in which the water level inside water pipes when combustion is stopped is lower than the upper ends of the water pipes; external water level detection means which communicates with upper and lower headers and detects a boiler body external water level; control means which controls the water supply means so as to lower the water level inside the boiler body when the water level detected by the external water level detection means reaches a first set water level; and header water level detection means which detects a water level existing inside the upper header by boiler water being pushed up by air bubbles. The control means controls the water supply means so as to lower the water level inside the boiler body when the water level detected by the header water level detection means reaches a second set water level.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a marine steam boiler. It includes a furnace, and a convection section including a bank of steam generating tubes. The walls, roof and floor of the boiler are made into an air tight enclosure by being formed from finned water tubes adjacent ones of which are joined to one another by fins. The spacings of the adjacent tubes in the walls, floor and roof are all substantially identical. The water tubes forming these walls extend directly from a lower water drum through the walls to an upper steam water drum and so there is no difficulty of reduced circulation due to intervening headers. Also because the walls, roof and floor are air tight only a thin cover of refractory is required and this reduces problems of cracking when the boiler is used in a motor ship where it would be subject to considerable vibrations.

An outer-fin absent region is provided in a longitudinally middle portion of each of the outer heat-transfer tubes.
