摘要: A heating system includes heaters configured to heat a liquid contained in a tank. Each of the heaters includes a heating element, a temperature sensor coupled to the heating element, a control unit in communication with the heating element and the temperature sensor. The control unit is configured to control the heating element and the temperature sensor. The heating system includes a smart probe in communication with the control unit of one of the heaters and configured to monitor operation conditions of the heating system. The heating system includes a display and an indicator coupled to the control unit. The heaters are integrated in a mesh network operatable under Internet-of-Things (IoT) connectivity.

摘要: A water heating system can include a water heater having a tank, an inlet line, and an outlet line, where the inlet line provides unheated water to the tank, and where the outlet line draws heated water from the tank. The water heating system can also include multiple sensing devices, where each sensing device of the plurality of sensing devices measures a parameter associated with the tank. The water heating system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the plurality of sensing devices, where the controller determines an amount of heated water in the tank based on measurements made by the plurality of sensing devices.

摘要: In an electric water heater having adjustable set point and differential temperatures, upper and lower heating elements, and associated temperature sensors respectively operative to sense upper and lower tank water temperatures, a specially designed control system is provided for controlling the heating elements. The control system is operative to prevent dry firing of the heating elements by measuring temperatures over time with the temperature sensors.

摘要: A water heating system can include a water heater having a tank, and a first temperature sensor disposed toward a top end of the tank to measure a first temperature and a second temperature sensor disposed toward a bottom end of the tank to measure a second temperature. The water heating system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor, where the controller determines an amount of heated water in the tank based on a plurality of algorithms and measurements made by the first and second temperature sensors. The plurality of algorithms solves for at least one calculated temperature for at least one point between a first location of the first temperature sensor and a second location of the second temperature sensor, where the at least one calculated temperature is used to determine the amount of heated water in the tank.

摘要: A beverage preparation machine (1) comprising a thermal conditioning device (71), such as a heater or cooler, said thermal conditioning device (71) comprising a control unit (4) for controlling a start-up phase of the thermal conditioning device (71) from a temperature of inactivity to an operative temperature, the control unit (4) comprising: a controller with a start-up profile for starting-up the thermal conditioning device (71), wherein the start-up profile has at least one parameter and the controller has a self-learning mode for adjusting the at least one parameter; and a temperature sensor connected to the controller for measuring a temperature of the thermal conditioning device (71); wherein the self-learning mode causes the controller during a start-up phase to: calculate a ramp value representative of a rate of change in temperature during the start-up phase of the thermal conditioning device; adjust the at least one parameter as a function of the adjusted ramp value; use the adjusted at least one parameter for a remainder of the start-up phase. A method for operating and calibrating the thermal conditioning device of such a beverage preparation machine.

摘要: A beverage preparation machine includes a thermal conditioning device, such as a heater or cooler. The thermal conditioning device contains a control unit for controlling a start-up phase of the thermal conditioning device from a temperature of inactivity to an operative temperature. The control unit includes a controller with a start-up profile for starting-up the thermal conditioning device, and the start-up profile has at least one parameter. The controller has a self-learning mode for adjusting the at least one parameter. A temperature sensor is connected to the controller for measuring a temperature of the thermal conditioning device. The self-learning mode causes the controller during a start-up phase to: calculate a ramp value representative of a rate of change in temperature during the start-up phase of the thermal conditioning device; adjust the at least one parameter as a function of the adjusted ramp value; and use the adjusted at least one parameter for a remainder of the start-up phase.

The at least one cross bar including at least one vent that traverses into a conduit within the cross bar. The channel is in fluid communication with the at least one vent by way of the conduit.
