    摘要: A rotary kiln-type core sand regeneration system, having a rotating cylinder, a burner for directing a flame into the rotating cylinder, a motor for rotating the rotating cylinder, front and rear boundary frames and rollers for supporting the rotating cylinder, and a platform on which the rotating cylinder, the burner, the motor, the front and rear boundary frames and the rollers are mounted. The rotating cylinder has a used core sand inlet, an exhaust cylinder and a preliminary heating cylinder arranged from the rear and a regenerated core sand outlet formed at a front part thereof, the rotating cylinder being directly coupled to the burner at a front end, and including at least one combustion cylinder having passing holes through which the core sand and the flame from the burner are passed in a front part thereof.

    摘要: Granular matter placed in a vertical cylinder rotated back and forth between limiting angles creates a sidewards flying bed. A spoke is connected at one between a vertical drive shaft rotating the cylinder and a first hinge. A drive rod is connected between the first hinge and a second hinge on a rotating flywheel. Rotation of the flywheel causes the drive shaft to rotate through an angle varying back and forth between limiting angles. The cylinder's speed of rotation varies. During most of the time centrifugal forces greater than gravity act upon the granular material, causing the material to form a layer on the inner wall of the cylinder. In at least a portion of the recurring time intervals the acceleration and deceleration produce tangential forces greater than the centrifugal forces acting upon the layer, causing the granular material to fly sidewards in a direction tangential to the cylinder's circumference.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for cooling and, preferably also, simultaneously de-dusting a hot particulate material, such as calcined petroleum coke, containing a substantial percentage of fines are described. The cooling and de-dusting operations are highly efficient and are carried out by modification of conventional rotary cooler apparatuses presently being used by industry for cooling various particulate materials such as calcined petroleum coke. The conventional cooler is preferably modified by installing therein at least one tumbling section or zone wherein the interior of the cooler is subdivided into a plurality of longitudinal compartments, which impart to the particulate material a high degree of tumbling free-fall action. In a less preferred embodiment, no such tumbling section is used or added to the cooler. In any case, central, non-rotating conduit means are included in the modification(s) made to the cooler to provide for the placement of one or more thermocouples within the cooler and also the conduction of fluids (such as water) to the interior of the cooler. In the preferred embodiment having at least one tumbling section, the cooler is also preferably provided with auxiliary equipment which supplies a de-dusting agent within same, said equipment or means, in conjunction with the tumbling section or zone of longitudinal compartments being capable of finely, and very efficiently, dispersing the de-dusting agent, such as an oil, upon the particulate material while the material is being cooled and subjected to tumbling free-fall action in the cooler.

    摘要: Method for temperature control within a rotating drum-type dryer treating metal scrap contaminated with combustible substances are disclosed. The apparatus for performing the method comprises a bank of water-injection nozzles within the dryer which are individually controlled by cam-actuated metering valves. A signal generated by a temperature sensing means situated within an exhaust gas stream emanating from the dryer determines the number of nozzles which are simultaneously activated in order to provide the desired cooling.

    摘要: Apparatus for cooling solid particulate material treated in a kiln comprising a plurality of elongated cylinders attached to the periphery of a rotary kiln. Particulate material is discharged from the kiln into the material inlet of the cooler while cooling air is introduced into the cooler countercurrent to the material flow. The particulate material is uniformly advanced from the material inlet to the outlet by means of a helical plate means which is continuous throughout its length. Annularly offset openings in the plate means deflect the cooling air from its initial flow path in order to increase the rate of heat transfer between the cooling gas and the particulate material, plate means and walls of the cooler. The plate means is easily manufactured and installed. The plate means is designed to prevent clogging by the particulate material. The interior of the cooler and the entire plate means are easily accessible for maintenance or repair by means of access doors near the material inlet and outlet. Spent gas is returned to the kiln to be used as preheated air of combustion.
