摘要: There is provided a novel regulating member that ensures easy manufacturing and does not adversely affect cooling water and environment. A spacer 6 is inserted from an opening 30 of a cooling water flow passage 3 into the cooling water flow passage 3 to be disposed. The cooling water flow passage 3 is disposed in a cylinder block 1 in an internal combustion engine. The spacer 6 includes a supporting member 7 with rigidity formed into a shape configured to be disposed in the cooling water flow passage 3 and a regulating portion 8 supported by the supporting member 7. The regulating portion 8 regulates a flow of cooling water. The regulating portion 8 includes a cellulose-based sponge 81. The cellulose-based sponge 81 is restorable from a compressed state through a contact with the cooling water w.

摘要: A tube-to-header sealing system for a heat exchanger comprises a pair of mating header plates, each header plate having a wall with a plurality of openings therein and including a continuous depression along the circumference of each header plate opening which forms one-half of an O-ring groove. Each of a plurality of O-rings is positioned in each O-ring groove and the header plates are secured together such that the header plate plurality of openings are aligned and trap each of the plurality of O-rings in O-ring grooves. A plurality of spaced-apart tubes each having a tube end secured in an opening in the wall of the header to form a tube-to-header joint are expanded outwardly to provide sufficient O-ring deformation to obtain a seal. In service, the resiliency of the O-ring seal allows for expansion and contraction of the tubes without the build-up of high stresses at the tube-to-header joint.

摘要: a reactor core for use in a chemical reactor includes first and second reactor core sections. Each core section includes heat transfer fluid conduits extending through the core section in a first direction, the lengths of the conduits defining a core section width. Each core section further includes spaced apart parallel plates arranged into a plate stack, with the conduits extending through the stack. Surfaces of the plates have a catalyst coating applied to them. The plates are rectangular and define a core section depth and a core section length, the core section depth being substantially smaller than both the core section width and length. Channels are defined by the spaces between adjacent plates, and are open to flow through the reactor core section in both the core section depth and length directions. The first core section is adjacent to the second core section in the depth direction.

摘要: A system and apparatus for regasifying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other cryogenic liquids on a continuous basis utilizing improved atmospheric air vaporizer heat exchangers of the vertical single pass and parallel connected type. A multiplicity of such heat exchangers is positioned on a defined grid, such as to improve the natural convection of the ambient air heat source. An improved heat exchange system includes heat exchange elements within the heat exchangers comprised of hybrid externally finned elements, smooth interior stainless steel tubes thermally bonded within the externally finned elements, the tubes containing vortex generators. Flow distributors in the form of venturi shaped injectors are positioned at the inlet of each tube of the multiplicity of heat exchangers of the system.

摘要: Welds (111a) are provided in areas that are offset from curved portions (111b) where stress concentration is likely to occur. This allows excess stress to be inhibited to occur at the welds at the time of tube enlargement. Therefore, even if the welds are softened and proof stress (mechanical strength) is reduced at the time of welding, as the stress occurring at the welds at the time of the tube enlargement can be prevented from exceeding the proof stress (allowable stress) of the welds, the welded tubes can be adopted in a radiator in which the tubes (111) and the fins (112) are joined together mechanically by tube enlargement. As a result, the manufacturing cost of the tubes can be reduced in comparison with the case when seamless tubes are adopted as the tubes.
