摘要: A series of time-sequenced heat energy data arrays or data stream sets of a weld process region are processed by a weld data array or data stream processing system to produce a heat energy data set output that is related to weld process region features or weld process region heat energy data. The heat energy data set output can be displayed to a system user and modified by system user input to the weld data array or data stream processing system; alternatively, or in combination, the system user output and input, the heat energy data set output, or data produced from the heat energy data set output by the weld data array or data stream processing system, can be transmitted to a weld process controller to adjust parameters in the weld process responsive to the output of the weld data array or data stream processing system.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for simulating a black body spectrum. The apparatus makes use of a broadband light source and a light guide configured to receive light generated by the light source and to generate first and second optical signals. A first signal processing subsystem may be used to enable adjustment of both a signal spectrum and an intensity of the first optical signal. A second signal processing subsystem may be used to enable adjustment of both a signal spectrum and an intensity of the second optical signal. A beam cube may be used to combine the first and second optical signals to produce a final light output signal having a desired signal spectrum and a desired intensity.

摘要: An infrared thermometer measures a temperature of an energy zone. The infrared thermometer comprises a beam splitter for splitting an incident light beam from an energy zone into an infrared light beam and a visible light beam; an infrared detector for detecting the infrared light beam and generating a signal indicative of a temperature of the energy zone according to the detected infrared light beam; and a sighting device having an optical module for generating a reflective reticle image and transmitting the visible light beam to generate a target image at a sight window, wherein the sighting device is configured to superimpose the reflective reticle image over the target image at the sight window to align the infrared detector with the energy zone. The infrared thermometer and an associated measurement method facilitate the alignment of the energy zone by the users, thereby improving the accuracy of the measurement.

摘要: The disclosure relates to a system for on-line normalization of the outputs of all of the detector elements of an infrared detector wherein, during the retrace period of the scanning mirror, infrared energy from a controlled thermoelectric source is reflected first from a high reflectivity sector of a rotating mirror and then from a relatively low reflectivity sector of the rotating mirror onto the detector. The detector output for the high and low reflectivity input signals is analyzed on a channel by channel basis by software controlled hardware and the gain of each channel is then adjusted in response thereto by the software controlled hardware individually. In this manner, each channel is caused to provide the same output for an identical input thereto.

摘要: The invention relates to instruments, such as radiometers, which generate a laser beam for striking a target at a distance to assist in aiming the instrument at a selected area of a target. Provision is made for splitting a single beam, used for instance for centering the instrument on the target, into a plurality of beams for creating a pattern or for defining an area on the target. When a single beam is split, the resultant plural beams produced are of relatively lower power, which may be insufficient for visibility on a target at a distance. In a first embodiment the invention provides apparatus to increase the power of the single laser beam when it is split, so as to provide plural beams of appropriately higher power and visibility. In a second embodiment, the invention provides apparatus for attenuating the beam power when a single beam is used, and for removing the attenuation when the beam is split into multiple beams. Apparatus for changing the single beam of the instrument to multiple beams, and vice versa, has a body structure with a relatively movable carrier incorporating a beam splitter device, and an attenuating or non-attenuating device, such that relative movement of the carrier causes, in a first embodiment, an increase of the laser beam power when only a single beam is used, and in a second embodiment an attenuation of the laser beam power when a relatively higher power single beam is used. In the second embodiment, the relative movement of the carrier serves to actuate switching means controlling the power of the laser beam. Such apparatus is advantageously in the form of an attachment for engagement releasably on the laser beam instrument.
