摘要: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining directional variation of shade of pile or napped materials. This directional variation of shade can be determined in multiple directions either simultaneously or sequentially utilizing spectrophotometers with bifurcated fiber optic cables. The bifurcated fiber optic cable is repeatably and accurately positioned over the pile or napped materials. A typical non-limiting example of pile materials includes carpeting.

摘要: A method for establishing light reflection properties of a specific surface, by measuring, for a plurality of comparison surfaces, the r-tables in accordance with CIE standard recommendations, measuring, for the same plurality of comparison surfaces, a light reflection parameter for selected angles (γ) of incident light and angles (90°—α) and (β) of reflected light, using a ‘portable’ measuring apparatus, measuring in situ, on multiple measuring points of said specific surface, said parameter for said angles (γ), (α) and (β), using said ‘portable’ apparatus, comparing the angular distribution of said parameter for the specific surface with that for said comparison surfaces, to select the comparison surface showing the best distribution fit, optionally taking into account a resealing factor on luminance coefficient Q0, and assigning to said specific surface the ‘r-table’ corresponding to said selected comparison surface, with said optional resealing factor.

摘要: Disclosed are an optical-characteristics measurement device and an optical-characteristics measurement method capable of reducing a measurement load for optical characteristics of a material and performing a simple and high-accuracy measurement in a short period of time. An optical-characteristics measurement device (for example, a BRDF measurement device) includes a light irradiation unit (for example, a light source unit and a point light source) which irradiates a sample with light, and a light reception unit which receives light from the sample. The light reception unit has a light reception sensor (for example, a sensor array) including a plurality of photoreceptors, and light guide unit (for example, an imaging lens) which guides light from the sample to the light reception sensor. The light guide unit guides light from the sample to different photoreceptors among a plurality of photoreceptors according to the position and traveling direction of light on and from the sample.

摘要: An image acquisition part of an apparatus includes a light irradiation part, a line sensor, an angle change mechanism, and a conveying mechanism for conveying a web. The light irradiation part emits light of a wavelength having the property of passing through a thin film pattern of the web. An irradiation angle of the light from the light irradiation part and a detection angle at which the line sensor captures an image are always the same, and these angles are changed by the angle change mechanism. In the apparatus, a set angle at which the contrast in an image is increased is obtained in advance for the irradiation angle and the detection angle, and these angles are set to that set angle. This enables the line sensor to acquire a high-contrast image using a light source having a single wavelength, thus reducing the manufacturing cost of the apparatus.
