    摘要: The inventive concept of the metrology system (the system) actively determines the 6 Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) pose of a motion device such as, but not limited to, an industrial robot employing an end of arm tool (EOAT). A concept of the system includes using laser pointing devices without any inherent ranging capability in conjunction with the EOAT-mounted targets to actively determine the pose of the EOAT at distinct work positions of at least one motion device.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for accurate positioning of a moveable member such as a robot arm or the like. An encoder or other position sensing means on the robot is used to control positioning of the robot into a desired position. However, because of inaccuracies such as those built up by utilizing a plurality of position sensors or those occasioned by bending, etc., the robot arm, gripper or the like may be substantially out of position. In the present invention, an electro-optical system, having a reference point external of the robot, is used to determine if the arm, gripper or the like is actually in its desired position. If it is determined to be out of its desired position, a control signal is generated to effect movement of the arm or gripper or the like so that it is actually in its desired position.

    摘要: An optical laser guidance system includes a laser sensor, a controller and a plurality of actuators. The laser sensor detects a projected laser beam and sends an electrical signal representative of the position of the laser beam to the controller. The controller interprets the representative signal and uses the position of the laser beam relative to a predetermined reference position to generate a control signal to control an actuator in order to control the direction of travel of a vehicle or robot with respect to a predetermined guidepath. The laser sensor may also receive additional control messages that result in the controller generating additional control signals to control additional actuators in order to perform additional functions. The optical laser guidance system may also include a laser projection system capable of projecting a two- or three-dimensional guidepath and additional control messages.
