摘要: Safety power disconnection for remote power distribution in power distribution systems is disclosed. The power distribution system includes one or more power distribution circuits each configured to remotely distribute power from a power source over current carrying power conductors to remote units to provide power for remote unit operations. A remote unit is configured to decouple power from the power conductors thereby disconnecting the load of the remote unit from the power distribution system. A current measurement circuit in the power distribution system measures current flowing on the power conductors and provides a current measurement to the controller circuit. The controller circuit is configured to disconnect the power source from the power conductors for safety reasons in response to detecting a current from the power source in excess of a threshold current level indicating a load.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for processing a stream of messages in an electric power system (EPS). In one embodiment, a system may include a configuration subsystem to receive a plurality of criteria from an operator to identify a subset of the stream of messages for real-time processing. A receiver subsystem may identify the subset of the stream of messages based on at least one criterion from the plurality of criteria. A real-time processing subsystem may receive the subset of the stream of messages from the receiver subsystem, process the stream of messages within a fixed interval of a time of receipt, and update a value based on information in the processed stream of messages. A protective action subsystem may implement a protective action based on information in the processed stream of messages.

The load protection system includes a PLC transmitter module and a PLC receiver module, which are configured to communicate a plurality of bits of data, each bit transmitted near a zero-crossing of a voltage on the power lines supplying power to the load, in the form of a high frequency burst of pulses. The pulses are structured in two patterns. The first pattern serves to identify the start of the second pattern, and the second pattern includes the data. The first pattern is unique and not represented within the second pattern. The load may be a motor, and the data may include a parameter value representing a parameter of the motor.

摘要: A transformer assembly including a transformer that is part of an underground residential power distribution circuit and that provides fault isolation and restoration. The transformer assembly includes an enclosure enclosing a primary winding and a secondary winding. The transformer assembly also includes first and second switching devices mounted to a panel of the enclosure, where each switching device includes an outer housing, a transformer interface electrically coupled to the primary winding, a connector interface electrically coupled to a first connector and a vacuum interrupter having a fixed contact and a movable contact. The fixed contact is electrically coupled to the connector interface or the transformer interface and the movable terminal is electrically coupled to the other connector interface or the transformer interface.

The method includes comparing an available supply with the electricity demand. Each of the branch circuits are connected to the available supply by a circuit breaker that requires manual reset (e.g., if tripped) connected in series with a controllable relay. The method includes controlling the controllable relays to connect and disconnect the branch circuits from the available supply.
